The bold text is my own add ins to relate the situations to Bella and Edward

사랑 is a tricky emotion. There are some things that feel like 사랑 but they are much too superficial to be the real thing. Real 사랑 takes time and doesn't happen overnight. Here are three things that people often confuse for love.

I don’t personally believe that 사랑 can really be defined 의해 anyone, but oh well. People like to try new things.

Lust A.k.a, Twilight

Lust is the feeling that is often mistaken for 사랑 at first sight. Lust is an intense and sudden attraction to somebody 당신 hardly know. It is mistaken for 사랑 because the attraction is so strong.

This sounds a lot like Bella and Edward, right?

Lust can feel like 사랑 because the feelings of attraction are strong and all-consuming. The emotions stirred up 의해 lust can feel very real but they are based on a fantasy. To 사랑 somebody 당신 must know them well but many people fall in lust while they are still strangers. What people in lust fall for is a 판타지 of what might be and reality can get 로스트 in the excitement.

I admit, this sounds a LOT like Bella, in the beginning

Overwhelmed 의해 physical attraction people in lust can't keep their hands off of each other. They think about each other constantly and talk about one another all the time. Lust is a happy feeling brought on 의해 passionate attraction. If 당신 are inexperienced in matters of the 심장 it is very easy to mistake all that passion for love.

Yes, Bella grabbed Edward a lot. Bella never really talked about Edward with anyone besides Edward. Both of them are inexperienced at matters of the heart

Lust differs from 사랑 like night differs from day. Lust happens in the early phase of a relationship when people don’t yet know each other. Lust is based on a fantasy, and the 판타지 and reality don’t always mesh up. This is where lust runs out of steam.

Although physical attraction is definitely a key ingredient in any romantic relationship, 사랑 is 더 많이 than just a physical longing. If a relationship is all about physical attraction it is based on lust. Really loving another person takes time and it can't be based on physical attraction alone.

Obsession a.k.a, New Moon

Obsessions are often mistaken for 사랑 because people rationalize the crazy feelings they are having. They assume that it must be 사랑 if the other person is always on their mind. Obsession is similar to lust but it is much 더 많이 misleading and destructive. While lust is often fleeting, fading as two people come to know each other better, obsession sticks around.

Before anyone says that Bella and Edward never got to know each other before this stage, please allow me to direct 당신 link. You’ll need to scroll a little further than halfway down the page to see Edward asking Bella about every detail of her life as a way to get to know her. This was before Edward said he loved her, but after Bella claimed to be irrevocably in love, unfortunately.

The 더 많이 time and effort invested in an unhealthy obsession the 더 많이 intense the obsession can become. People in an obsessed state have a one track mind where the other person is concerned and they often lose touch with who they are as an individual. This loss of individuality creates a vicious 원, 동그라미 of behavior where the obsessed person grows 더 많이 and 더 많이 dependent on the other person to bolster their sense of self.

This pretty much speaks for itself. Bella running off with strange bikers, reckless cliff diving, etc

Even unrequited love, 사랑 that is not returned, can become an overwhelming obsession. When one person believes they are in a relationship that doesn't really exist, 또는 when one person is 더 많이 invested in an existing relationship than the other, the foundation for an obsession has been laid.

One could argue that Bella was in an unrequited relationship because Edward wasn’t actively present at a certain point

Real 사랑 is nurturing and helps people grow but obsession is debilitating. If 당신 feel like 당신 have 로스트 yourself, if 당신 are always striving to please your partner without them doing the same for you, and if 당신 find yourself making all decisions in your life based on the feelings and needs of the other person 당신 could be dealing with obsession.

Also, keep in mind the Mormon belief that a partner is pretty much required.

Rebounding A.k.a, Jacob

A rebound is a relationship that starts up very quickly after another relationship has ended. Rebounds are rarely based on 사랑 but are really a way of alleviating the loneliness people feel when a relationship ends.

Bella uses Jacob as a distraction from her obsessive mentality.

Rebounding can feel like 사랑 for the simple reason that the people involved want to be in love. They are used to the security of being in 사랑 and 더 많이 than anything else they want to feel that security again. They convince themselves that they are in 사랑 when they are actually missing the safety and comfort of the relationship they left behind.

This explains all the confusing emotions. Bella turned to Jacob for the security. Jacob was misled 의해 her intentions.

If an old relationship keeps interfering with the progress of a new relationship it could mean that the relationship is a rebound. When somebody is on the rebound they are not entirely over their 이전 relationship. They may still be trying to work out unresolved issues from that relationship. Rebound relationships may feel like 사랑 but they are still impacted 의해 unsettled feelings from the past.

Bella never got over Edward. It’s expected to believe that if she had gotten over him, 또는 if Edward had never been in the picture at all, there would have been something 더 많이 between Bella and Jacob.

I believe that from this point on, Edward and Bella were indeed in love. Edward, I believe to have been in 사랑 earlier on. Bello jumped the gun and confused her lust with love, but it eventually caught up with her and things evened out.

I believe that real 사랑 cannot happen without a sense of obsession to keep 당신 loyal. Lust is necessary to keep 당신 interested, I guess, but I don't find it necessary. I don't see anything wrong with it either.

In conclusion, there's no denying the initial lust. Bella and Edward took the steps usually taken in forming a proper romantic relationship.

I will have 더 많이 on this as I continue rereading the series.

The Cullens are weird. Not in a vampiric sense but in common sense. They are trying to stay camouflaged but they keep failing. Lets review, shall we?

1. They go to high school over and over again. They try to blend in with the other non-sparkly, non-Adonis(y), non-vampiry and nonsensical humans. Aside from this, they pout in the cafeteria during lunch hour. Why? They could just eat their lunch elsewhere. They don't eat, so it's unlikely that no one has noticed them not eating.

2. High school is a crowded place. People keep bumping into each other at some point. Let's say the Cullens are very...

I see a lot of Twiight 팬 arguing the same points over and over again, and frankly, they have no idea what they're talkinng about.

First I'd like to point out:

Some Twilight 팬 are saying that they are confused with Harry Potter because they haven't read the 책 and the 영화 don't explain clearly enough. Well, guess what, that does not make Twilight better than Harry Potter, it is not out fault 당신 haven't read Harry Potter. When we argue Harry Potter vs. Twilight I was under the impression that we were including both 책 and movies, not just the movies. So the fact that your confused...

I suspect I'm not the only one, am I? XD...... Anyways, 당신 know you're obsessed with Bellatrix when....

1. 당신 throw away all of your hairbrushes.

2. 당신 wear at least some black every day.

3. 당신 rip your clothes on purpose.

4. 당신 call people 당신 don't like "filthy mudbloods".

5. 당신 yell "CRUCIO!" at people when 당신 get mad.

6. 당신 carry knives on your person

7. Your desktop background and screensaver are of Bellatrix.

8. Whenever you're typing a word that starts with a "B" 또는 an "L", 당신 accidentally type out a Bellatrix 또는 a Lestrange instead.

9. 당신 think her birthday should...

I found this online. It's a real conversation a bookstore employee apparently had with a Twilight fan. It didn't happen to me. I found it funny, thought 당신 guys might too.

(A customer in her late teens approaches me in the bookstore.)
Customer: “Hey, do 당신 guys sell the Twilight books?”
Me: “Yes, they’re right over there.”
Customer: “Have 당신 read them?”
Me: “Yes, I have.”
Customer: “Didn’t 당신 just 사랑 them?!”
Me: “Well, actually, they aren’t really my type of book, so–”
Customer: *suddenly furious* “Are 당신 f***ing serious?! These are the best 책 ever written! I’m going to tell Edward to come and bite 당신 and drink all your blood!”
Me: *backing away* “Have a nice day, ma’am…”

I was thinking about difference in Harry Potter and Twilight background and this is what I concluded. Enjoy!

Knowledge of magical beings not soo very far from their backyards
Harry Potter: As I can get from HP 책 and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, wizarding world was known to Muggles, but because of witch hunt and victims of it in both sides, wizard decided to go underground and not to be commonly know to people. They don`t use spells in front of Muggles and if sombody does manage to discover their secret, they erase their memory.
However, there are exeptions. Families of Mugle-borns ofcourse...
