The World is flat!
Well, I know 당신 질문 my sanity, now. Obviously, the world is round and that’s a proven fact, from the moment Galileo stepped out of his ship. And now, there’s a 질문 again. Is the World really round? I hate that word, really. The word which gives rise to a lot of 질문 and seeks for explanations.
‘Imagination is 더 많이 important than knowledge,’ said a wise man once. And, it’s true. Well, 당신 need not be aware of the complications of four-dimensional 우주 fabric to accept this theory. What all 당신 need to know is the record made 의해 two international best-selling 책 of this century and the mounds of money the authors made from these books.
You can guess the books. The first is the Harry Potter series written 의해 the most loving author of all time – J. K. Rowling. We all know the inexplicable effort she took for the publication of her very first novel which was later proved to be one of the stunning 책 of the century. “Harry Potter is the creation of genius,” said one of the leading magazines of Great Britain. And, 당신 bet it is.
Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone was published in 1997 and hit the international-bestselling status in a short period of time. The 다음 parts of the series were unraveled one after another until every American child’s mind was blacked out 의해 Harry. Nearly all the teen-agers were enthralled 의해 the beautiful zigzag flow of the action-packed adventure of Harry Potter. Now, the guy who says, ‘the world is flat’ and the guy who says, ‘I don’t like HP’ are looked upon the same.
Do 당신 see a child 또는 a teen-ager is 연기 weirdly? Does he have feathers at the back of his pen? Does he say ‘Lumos’ whenever he’s in dark? Does he have a 비밀번호 for his room and makes 당신 say that before 당신 enter? These are the symptoms of a common-form of disease called Harry-O-Mania. Well, nothing to worry, until 당신 read Harry Potter yourself and 가입하기 him in his world of Wizards.
The 초 is the Twilight saga written 의해 Stephanie Meyer. The 책 also made the record and one of the leading news-papers said, “Move over, Harry Potter.” It wasn’t until then that the chaos reigned. Ever since the start of the literature, people usually compare books. Narnia and The Lord of the Rings were compared and criticized although Lewis and Tolkien were best-friends.
And today, it’s Harry Potter vs. Twilight. A lot of American high-schools have teams named after these two 책 and the reports tell that they fight with each other often.
Now, we really should know what’s happening. Twilight portrays the 사랑 of a teen-age girl for a boy who later turned out to be vampire. Now, the V-word should be scared of. On the contrary, after the publication of this book, people – especially girls – started to 사랑 it.
What’s the 출처 of the uncountable money made 의해 these two books? Imagination. Solely, imagination. ‘Imagine, this is an unimaginable situation.’ A boy living in the world of wizards? A girl living with 뱀파이어 and were-wolves? What are these two called? A grown-up man would say all these as insane theories. But, I must confess, that there’ve been moments when I’ve yearned to be in the company of Ron and Hermione fighting bravely against Lord Voldemort.
The 판타지 of Harry Potter is hard to explain. The spells, the castles, ad the countless other heart-binding theories are the reasons HP has been successful. The plots are absolutely phenomenal. 당신 will not know it, until 당신 read the book.
When that versus word comes, I’m sorry to confess that Harry Potter is better than Twilight. The reason is very simple. Values. Both the 책 give beautiful explanations for true love. Twilight has this basis: without you, I’m a dull Zombie. But, Harry Potter has rich values which rely on the incredible power of love. We all have seen Bella and Edward attempting to suicide. That quality which says, “Dying for love.” I do not know where Meyer is taking the teens with this. But, Rowling has portrayed another quality. “Living for Love.” The perfect example here is Severus Snape. Snape became a better man for his 사랑 for Lily, even after her death.
That phenomenal power of 사랑 which destroys the darkest of forces has been perfectly annotated in Harry Potter. ‘Harry’s undeniable weapon is 사랑 – just love,’ says Dumbledore.
However, these 책 have made it! And the World is now fast changing. A transition of imagination from reality.
And now, what if the world really is flat? Really?

Hello, everyone. It's me, teamsalvatore. (Salvy)

So this club is Potter vs. Twilight, Rowling vs. Meyer, Wizards vs. Vampires. I, personally, my opinion, think that Twilight is better than Harry Potter. BUT I think that there are some redundant things in Twilight. And remember, these are ust my opinions:

-Bella's weakness; She's helpless, and turning girls everywhere into weak, spineless idiots. She's making girls everywhere think they need a guy like Edward to protect them.
-Edward's obvious self-hate; He's a non-cutting emo, for crying out loud! A wannabe! We get it, Eddy, 당신 don't like yourself....

Okay. I know what 당신 are all thinking. Oh no not another Harry Potter vs. Twilight 기사 but yes I am making one because I can. I just want my opinion to be heard. So first off let me list the reasons why children, teens and adults can 사랑 Harry Potter and the good messages that Harry Potter gets across. Harry Potter first of all teaches people about the very special bond between people called friendship. Harry, Hermione and Ron are a perfect example of friendship. They are all with Harry until the very end like they promised. They risk their lives for each other and even though they fight,...

Ok, well I’m getting pretty tired of people saying that Bella and Edward’s relationship is love. It’s not. It’s just lust. Let’s look at the clues:
-She sees him and thinks he’s gorgeous.
-He likes her smell.
-He’s a vampire.
Now, before I start 글쓰기 about these points, I would like to compare the relationship to that of Snape and Lily. Yes, they have never gone out but they didn’t need to. Snape met Lily when they were little. He probably thought she was pretty and developed a crush on her which bloomed into love. When Snape found...

Realised the points have little to do with plot, thus changed the 제목 to errors.

My apologise to Twilight 팬 if I'm a little too harsh, but I have reread the 책 like twice this 월 and it was a little exasperating. Not to worry, I'm currently rereading Harry Potter, so a plothole list on it will be added soon =)

Ok, let's get started:

1.A hundred years of...nothingness?
Explanation: I don't expect science fiction 책 to be scientifically accurate. But if 당신 plan your main character to live 100 years studying in prep forever at the age of 17, make the whole book plausible. No, just saying...

Okay, I'm going to give reasons why each book is better in this article. Then, comment, argue/contradict my points, and start a reasonable 토론 (not a fight) on the 코멘트 board, please!
PRO TWILIGHT
I'm not a big Twilight fan, but I can try to come up with some reasons:
1.Bella's emotions are described in depth, leaving no area unexplored. We know exactly how she feels at every second, whether she is gazing at Edward 또는 making noodles. (this could also be a drawback-you can't have a story be completely emotion and no story)
2.Love? Well, Edward and Bella are in a relationship where they...

I made a list of combined and possible plot holes about Harry Potter. Some of them I came up with myself, and some of them I got from different places online. If 당신 can give explanation answering the 질문 ,do it please.
I purposely put in a few really really picky 질문 because there are a lot of 기사 about Twilight like this, so I want to see how Harry Potter 팬 respond to the ridiculously picks questions. I'm not going to tell 당신 which ones they are, but they should be easy to pick out.

95 Reasons Why Twilight Sucks
Opinion 의해 BedIntruder 게시됨 4 hours 이전

1. Bella is a perfect character (“Mary Sue”), which Meyer hides 의해 calling her clumsy.
2. Being clumsy is not a flaw if Edward always catches her.
3. She can’t do anything without Edward.
4. And when he leaves she attempts to commit suicide.
5. Meyer is living out her own fantasies 의해 글쓰기 about Bella, who is clearly herself.
6. The 책 aren’t well written, just because every other word is a fancy adjective doesn’t make it good writing.
7. All the rules Meyer sets for being a vampire are broken 의해 the end of the...

116. "BTW Twilight is the bestest film ever" I get really frusterated when soomebody compares the films instead off the movies. And whats worse is that 당신 arent giving any reasons. "Stop hating, pick-up Twilight, actually read it and 당신 will 사랑 it and stop hating Twilight". Has it ever occurred to 당신 that twilight haters have read the whole series? Like me? "HP is all around boring and it is made for younger children". I dont understand how Harry Potter can be so boring. Maybe 당신 didnt keep up with the amount of action and romance and magic and the mystery. 또는 maybe 당신 didnt read...

So, once there was this girl - well, actually that girl still is - but anyway, this girl who we'll call Emma, for the purposes of now. (Well, actually, we'll call her that because it's her name. But 당신 get the point.)

Around two, two and a half years ago, when Emma was in sixth grade, one of her 프렌즈 - let's call her K, if she must have a name - was 읽기 a book that looked rather interesting. It was black, with a shiny hard cover, and had an 사과, 애플 on the front. It was called Houkutus, which translates to Temptation. Emma liked the name and thought it might prove an interesting read, but...

I discovered these song spoofs in my 글쓰기 folder from my "Uber-Anti" stage, and I decided to share it with 당신 guys, for the sake of nostalgia and whatnot.

Dumb Isabella (spoof on Umbrella 의해 Rihanna)-

Maybe in your dreams, but never in reality
Until 당신 agree, to take my hand and marry me
And that's when you’ll want me there
to turn 당신 into a vampire
Because

Well I've been 글쓰기 a little fanfic recently and I realized that when I write fanfic, I mostly let my character's handle the plot. Whatever happens to pop in my head at the time, and doesn't go completely against the 사무용 겉옷, 전반적인 story line, gets put in the fanfic.
But Smeyer says that she wrote Twilight 의해 just "letting her characters handle the plot". There 의해 making it seem a lot like how, not only I, but other people, write 팬 fiction.
I decided to look up some reasons of what makes a good 팬 fiction:
"1. Choose the anime/manga/book/video game/movie 당신 want your fan-fic to be about." Vampire's...

Okay, my friend and I go to a school that has a thing called 'Lit Circles'. There's a list of books, and Twilight is on there, but not Harry Potter. My friend thought this was totally wrong, and wrote a super long persuasive essay to our English teacher about it. This was all hers, and I can't take credit for how awesome it is :)

Why Twilight Should Be Replaced 의해 Harry Potter in Lit Circles

Dear Stephenie Meyer,

May I first tell 당신 that your 'Saga' is complete and utter crap. I also would like to highlight the fact that your 'books' are an insult to literature and vampires.
When 읽기 them at first, I thought that they were quite good, and for a while I was a Twilight fan, but your fanbase has gotten huge, along with your head. This is one of the reasons I don't like Twilight. I've read other points on why Twilight and the rest of the 'saga' are bad, and I fully agree with the points raised. The points that I have read about have made me realise how bad Twilight and the rest...
