I found this while surfing the web 게시됨 의해 an anonymous person, all I know is that she is a girl and only 11.
Let me start put 의해 saying this is not a regular anti-twilight post because I am not a hater, 또는 at least I try hard not to be, and I can actually understand Twilighters very well. I think some Twilighters are a bit confused 또는 frustrated because they think many people are turning down an amazing book for no good reason. I can see why people think Twilight is good, so I made a list of why I think people think Twilight is good and why it’s actually not very good (was that confusing? Sorry, oh and this is only an opinion although I am hoping most of 당신 will agree).
1. It has a very advanced vocabulary and seemingly complex sentences. This is actually sort of true, Twilight does seem like it is very well written. However, if 당신 look at it 더 많이 carefully, it repeats the same words over and over and when Meyer finally changes the word she uses to describe Edward’s beauty, it is nothing but a synonym for the 이전 word she used. This leads me to my thesaurus theory. I am 120% sure that Meyer used every entry in the thesaurus for the word beauty in her books, and it is unfair that she thanked her sister, Emily at the beginning of he book instead of what obviously helped her more, Webster’s New World Thesaurus.
2. Edward and Bella’s 사랑 is unmatched 의해 any other. Sure, Edward and Bella have a great thing going on, but once again, 당신 must think about it 더 많이 carefully. Bella and Edward’s relationship never gets very deep, yeah it mentions that they 사랑 each other, but when Bella talks about him, it seems she only loves him because he is hot. From what I recall, Bella rarely compliments his personality, she only cares about what he looks like, and if I am correct, that is LUST, NOT LOVE.
3. It teaches women to be strong and independent, and to fight for what they believe. Ok, Bella is neither strong nor independent. She basically fell apart at the seams when Edward left her, and she only survived the whole ordeal without becoming suicidal because of Jake, how does that make her strong and independent? And as for fighting for what she believes in, ok, I guess I get that, except for the fact that most of her “fighting” was just whining.
4. The main character is easy to relate to. This is true, but only because Bella has no personality. The only thing the book says about her is that she is clumsy and stubborn, we are all clumsy and stubborn every so often which makes it easy to relate to her. This, however, does not excuse the fact that Meyer gave one of her characters NO personality whatsoever.
5. It is exciting and keeps 당신 on the edge of your seat. I was taught to make a prediction about what a book is going to be about before I read it. I was very surprised that when I finished the entire series, my prediction turned into a summary. Do 당신 get where I’m going? If not let me explain it, Twilight is predictable! I don’t know about you, but I was never surprised 의해 anything that happened in the book. So it did not keep me at the edge of my 좌석 anymore than watching the 음식 network channel does. “OMG! Did she seriously just put 상추, 상 추 in that salad?!?! Whoa…”
That concludes my little rant about Twilight because I do not want to make this 더 많이 than a page long. Sorry if it offended anyone, Thank 당신 for 읽기 it. And I hope 당신 understand why I did not feel the need to include “Edward is hot” on my list. If 당신 disagree, that is your opinion just as this is mine, so do not hate on me. Now I must restrain myself from boring 당신 any longer, so have a nice day, and remember, “Never tickle a sleeping dragon.”
