Chapter Two

      Hazel skipped numerous of pages but she wasn't fast enough. They heard the elevator ringing up and Reese's steps as she walked to her bedroom door. Dakota panicked and shoved the book in Hazel's bag just as Reese came through the door with an older guy. He seemed like he was in college 또는 was about to finish college.
      "Meet my bro, Jonathan." Jonathan was almost exactly the same as Reese but he had a 더 많이 mature look. His square jaw, gorgeous brown eyes, and full lips made him irresistible. Hazel turned on her alluring look as well with Dakota. Reese ignored the looks. "He is the master at pranks. At his college, he pulls pranks on almost everyone even the teachers. He sent some of the 비디오 to me and they are hilarious."
      "Ah don't be so modest," he said. "I also got voted the best prankster award." His bright smile life up the entire room. It almost felt like it was directed at Hazel.
      'Don't trust her," whispered Abigail but a little 더 많이 rough.
      "What are some of the pranks you've done before?" Jonathan asked. Hazel was wrapped up in Jonathan just like Abigail was in to Conner. 
      'Don't trust her,' said the voice. 'Get out of this house!' Dakota was the only one who heard the sharp piercing screams that Abigail made. Abigail is everywhere. Dakota gripped Hazel and Reese's arms. "We gotta go, sorry."
      When they reached Dakota's Sudan, Hazel was clearly pist. "Just when I was getting my flirt on, 당신 had to ruin it." She made a dramatic huff and crossed her arms.
      "Gross, Jonathan already has a girlfriend. Her name is Serena." Reese glanced at Hazel with disgust on her face.
      Hazel shrugged, "Get use to it. Your brother is hot!" They laughed. Dakota drove all the way to the mall while Reese and Hazel babbled on about fashion. Dakota was too 로스트 in her own world to be bothered with theirs
      She was a close friend of Abigail but did Hazel experience things like Dakota was going through? It didn't seem like it. She wanted to believe that this wasn't the cause of grief. Hazel and Dakota cried a bit when they heard of the murder of their friend. It seemed unlikely at first but as time went on they began to accept it. Remarkably, Hazel got ever it fast. Probably because she is so strong. Dakota tried pushing the sadness down. It ended up in a box deep in her heart. She knew that that pain could sprang up on her anytime and it could possible ruin her. 
     
It was a hot sunny 일 in September. Abigail had invited her two best friends, Hazel and Dakota, to come and watch a movie she rented. Her parents were out of town so she had the entire summer house to herself. It couldn't get any better than that. While the girls took their precious time arriving, Abigail set up the chips, popcorn, and other necessities. She twirled her red hair as she thought about Connor. Connor Myrick is her almost 월 old boyfriend. She had been obsessing over him before Freshmen year. He only had asked her out their Junior year. She knew everything about him. It had taken a 년 to learn all there was. Abigail wasn't a stalker but she did like to know everything about her crush.
      There was some rustling near the window but she simply thought it was a stray cat 또는 something along those lines. Abigail had told Dakota everything she knew about Connor. Unlike Hazel, Dakota didn't get jealous if she bragged about Connor's body 또는 babbled about how he could throw a better curve ball then anyone on the Brunswick High School baseball team. Dakota was way 더 많이 accepting of Connor then Hazel
      "Hey!" shouted Hazel from the door. She had the key to the house so she just strolled in with Dakota lingering behind her. "I brought Measly." Measly was Hazel's neighbor's dog. Sometime her neighbors would let her dog sit Measly and in return they would give her their old diamonds and pearls. Measly was a huge German Shepherd with tan and black fur. He was a very cuddly dog.
      "Great now this party can really get started," declared Dakota as she shimmied and danced her way through the door and on the Dalton's white couch.
      "Great then because this movie is hilarious." Abigail pressed play on the VCR and flopped on the 침상, 소파 with Dakota. Hazel was too busy stuffing her face with chips. There was a soft moan from 의해 the window but none of the girls heard it.
      "Wake up!" shouted Dakota's english teacher, "Mr. Basil. Dakota hadn't realized that she had drifted to sleep in class. She didn't get much sleep last night. Her and the girls were a bit too busy to sleep when they could shop. They had gotten Reese a whole new wardrobe. "Is my class boring you?" Mr. Basil asked. He had his wrinkled hands relaxed on his hips. "Stay after class." 
      Hazel gave her a glare that meant 'what is your problem?' Honestly, she did not know. She wanted to believe that she was not hearing things. How could her best friend possibly contact her when her best friend is supposedly dead. It was not right and completely unrealistic.
      Reese was very uncomfortable in her tight mini dress that Hazel made her wear. Wearing this dress was strictly forbidden especially since that the dress would rise up over but whenever she sat 또는 bend over. Then the heels. The lousy, studded heels she had to wear. They would surely leave a sore on her feet. The thought if saying no to Hazel was the only thing that made her wear the ridiculous outfit. Beauty came with a price. She just had to suck it up and not think about it. 
      At lunch that similar Tuesday, Connor Myrick had finally shown up for school. He had a 구름, 클라우드 of misery 후버 청소기로 청소하다, 후버 over him and if 당신 came anywhere near him 당신 would be sucked in too. When he walked into the cafeteria, everyone hushed. There were no 더 많이 laughing and loud chattering. It was eerily silent. "What!" he yelled when he realized the silence was due to his arrival. "Go to hell!" he said to no one in particular. He was obviously drunk. His slurred words and unsteady movements gave it away. The faculty adverted their eyes and ignored his out burst. 
      He grabbed his lunch and came over to a 표, 테이블 that was currently occupied 의해 Hazel, Reese, Dakota and a couple of other girls from the cheerleading squad. 'My love,' said Abigail 또는 at least her voice. He stared at Hazel and she got hp and followed him to the back of the cafeteria where no one was at.
      "Isn't anyone suspicious about those two?" questioned Reese. Dakota knew but she wouldn't say a word 또는 try to stop Reese when she went after them.
      Hazel and Connor actually went to the 도서관, 라이브러리 where they sat and ate lunch at one of the tables. Reese his behind a shelf of books. "What do 당신 want now?" Hazel asked, irritated. "Why aren't 당신 at 집 mourning over Abigail?"
      "I would not have come to 당신 if I though 당신 would mot be able to handle it." He tensed a bit and darted his eyes to ground. He sounded a bit 더 많이 sober. "I think I might have a lead on Abigail's killer. This man told me he had some stuff that might be able to help me."
      There was a log pause. Hazel thought that finding Abigail's killer was a waste of time. That killer was probably long but she still was interested on what they found out. "What man?" she finally asked.
      "Uh he said his name was Bilson Bowels." Reese leaned closer onto the bookshelf. Without realizing her mistake, the bookshelf fell over on 상단, 맨 위로 of the other and like dominos the other bookshelves fell also. Reese stood there in the middle of the chaos looking absolutely petrified.
 
When the movie was over, the girls gathered around Abigail's table. They chatted mostly about the guys at school but when Connor's name was mentioned, Hazel became extremely quiet. Abigail never knew why she never liked discussing him. She had always assumed she was just jealous of the relationship Abigail and Connor had 또는 maybe it was something else. 
      The doorbell rung a loudly and a giggling Abigail answered the door. She screamed loud and then hurst into fits of joyful greets. Connor had surprised her 의해 coming. He had something 더 많이 important to do but right now he wanted to see his girlfriend. After 키싱 Abigail, he noticed the small audience there. "Oh, am I interrupting something?" he questioned.
      "Actually this is girls night out so it is only for girls," Hazel stated hut Abigail hurriedly clarified.
      "Oh no 당신 can stay." She pulled him to the 침상, 소파 and they sat and talked. Abigail had left Dakota and Hazel alone. This was not the first time she ignored them  to tall to Connor. They were both getting sick of it especially the girl outside Abigail's window.
