The long flight to America felt like an eternity. I was so bored without Duncan. Usually, I'd have so much fun with him on a date; him cracking jokes about our relationship status and making me laugh, him being my protector of any harm.

But now that I was alone, I felt loose. It was like as if our relationship status was like a thick, strong piece of rope. And without him, the rope was a thin string, cut in half to show worthlessness.

I was so bored, I fell asleep.

Now, I have a secret I haven't told anybody before, EVER- I have E.S.P., so I'm kinda psychic.

The dream I had, I will never, EVER forget.

I was in a dark room, handcuffed to a medieval 벽 A spotlight turned on in the middle of the room, and Duncan was standing there, his hands handcuffed, and chains leading from the handcuffs to the ceiling. He was alive and breathing, his head down, but he was shirtless.

Well, let's just say that was the highlight of my dream.

I heard ominous, wicked laughter from somewhere, and one 의해 one, hot flashing whips sliced across Duncan's body, leaving blood trails. I screamed, hot tears dripping down my face.

A girl appeared 다음 to Duncan, about fourteen 또는 fifteen. She had long, and I mean long, golden hair with hot 담홍색, 핑크 and white streaks. She was wearing a long black dress with a long trail leading behind her. She zipped over to me and held up her fingers at me.

Her fingers were pale and slender, with long shimmering nails. The girl smiled at me devilishly and dug her burning nails into my flesh. I screamed in pain, and once I saw blood pouring down my arm, everything went black.

I woke up, sweating ferociously. I pulled out my vibrating laptop and opened it to a video chat Duncan had started, and he was waiting for me to respond.

"Yo, 당신 there, princess?" he asked. He was in his room, posters strewn all over the walls, his stereo on. His walls were black and red, and his whole room mainly looked like a medieval dungeon.

"Sorry, I've been sleeping." I said, brushing my hair.

"You ok?" He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. He must've seen how nervous I was.

"No, not really. I just had this really scary dream that freaked me out a mile."

"Well, spill!" he chuckled.

"Well, 당신 were in the middle of a dark room with a spotlight on you, I was chained to some wall, and some teenage girl was slicing 당신 with leather whips."

His jaw dropped to the floor and he ran to go lock his windows. I laughed and he sat back down at his laptop. "Phew."

"So, how's your sister?" I drank from my water bottle.

"Ashlee's a pain in the ass. She nags my dad to let her dye her hair, and now she's pissed that she has 담홍색, 핑크 and white streaks in her blonde hair."

I did a spit-take all over the 좌석 in front of me. Good thing I was the only one on the plane. "What did 당신 just say?" I was shocked.

"I said Ashlee got 담홍색, 핑크 and white streaks in her hair."

Holy f*ck! The girl in my dream. It was Ashlee.

"Oh, I gotta go." I said. "We just landed."

"OK." He looked down. "I 사랑 you."

I widened my eyes. He loved me. That was a big step for me to respond back that I loved him. And I wasn't exactly sure I loved him. I liked him a lot, but like and 사랑 and very far apart.

"I gotta go!" I closed my laptop and packed up my stuff and stepped off the airplane.

Once I entered the enourmous university, a short, 스타우트 woman with short black hair and tanned skin led me to a dorm. "You must be Courtney, yes?"

"Yes."

"I am Marissa Le'on. This is your dormitory, but 당신 will have a roommate who should be here soon. Ok, I'll let 당신 get settled in. Bye!" She walked out.

The dorm was beautiful. There was an opal rug spread across the floor. There were two bunk beds on the left wall, a 체리 red leather sofa, and an 80" Hi-Def TV. "Damn, this is sweet!"

"I'll say." A blonde girl stood at the doorway, checking out the room.

"Are 당신 my roommate?" I asked.

"Are 당신 Courtney Williams?"

"Yes..."

"Then, yes. Hi, I'm Ashlee."

I screamed and hid behind the couch. "Keep your distance, witch!"

"What do 당신 mean?" Ash asked sweetly, her 담홍색, 핑크 and white streaks shimmering under the light.

Marissa came back in the room. "Your first law and politics course will begin in an hour, so prepare!" then she exited and closed the door.

Ash turned back around to face me, and crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at me. "You ditched my brother."

"I had to. This was my only chance to get into Harvard, and-" I was cut off.

"We'll get along just swimmingly if 당신 stay on your side of the room and I'll stay to mine. Kay?"

"You hate me, don't you?"

"Wow, I thought 당신 were smart."

I was pissed. I got off my bunk and punched Ash in the mouth. Her lip started bleeding and her molar was knocked out. She just stood there, hands at her sides, smiling at me. She flexed her right hand, and her lip was healed, and her tooth re-grew. I stared, mouth agape, and watched her turn around and walk to her side of the room.

She had a leather bracelet on her right wrist, with a shimmering lava-red stone. It burned like fire, and it seemed to be connected to me somehow. I blinked and I was out of the trance.

"Sucker." Ashlee whispered to herself, but I didn't hear.
