“Maisy, what the hell?!” Dallas pulls over on the side of the road.
“I…. I made it!” I stutter, shocked from excitement, “I’m on TDI.”
“That’s nice. 다음 time, try not to scream bloody murder while I’m driving,” He continues driving.
“Sorry,” I laugh, still in shock.
“When does it start?”
“Sunday at nine,” I tell him as we pull up to the house.
“That’s tomorrow,” We walk into the house, “Mom will freak.”
“She knows I auditioned,” I defend myself; “She has to say yes!”
“Yes to what?” My mom walks into the living room where Dallas and I are standing.
“I got into TDI,” I grin, then my smile falls a bit, “But I have to be there at nine tomorrow morning.”
“Nine?!” My mom raising an eyebrow, “Oh, Honey I don’t know, your father and I will discuss it before 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 tonight.”
“This means a lot to me,” I try not to beg.
“Which is why I will discuss it with your father,” she walks into the kitchen.
I sigh, “I sure hope I can go.”
“Me too, then it’d be one less sister to handle,” Dallas smirks and I roll my eyes.
I hear my phone ring and I run upstairs to my room.
“Hey, Ging,” I smile through the phone as I press the answer button.
“Did 당신 get an 이메일 yet?” Ginger asks.
“Yeah,” I pretended to be upset.
“Awh, I’m sorry, Maze. There’s always 다음 seas-“
“I’M KIDDING I MADE IT,” I squeal, and I receive an echo squeal in my ear.
“I knew 당신 would,” She says happily, “Are 당신 gonna go?”
“I don’t know,” I sigh, “It’s tomorrow, and my mom wants to discuss it with my dad.”
“She has to say yes!” Ginger gasps.
“I know. But it’s their decision.”
“What if 당신 can’t go?”
“I can’t think like that,” I try to keep a normal tone.
“Well, I have to clean my room. Video chat later about the decision?”
“Of course,” I smile, “Later, Ging.”
“Later,” and I hang up.
I sit on my 침대 and I’m wondering; who else got in? Did anybody else that I know get in? Will they be nice?
I look around my room, my eyes are passing gymnastics trophies, talent show medals, straight-A 신고 cards, and even “Student Council” awards. Wow, I need 더 많이 of a social life; another reason to go on this trip. I’ve already gotten my summer work done so I’ll have nothing else to do.
“Maisy!” My mom calls, “Dinner time!”
My 심장 skips a beat as I make my way down the stairs into the dining room. I sit between Emma and Dallas as we say our blessings and serve the fried chicken, mashed potatoes that are so fluffy 당신 could die, rich gravy, and green beans.
“How was practice?” Dad asks me.
“Pretty good,” I finish my green beans, “Just some open house thing at the gym.”
“How was band practice, Dallas?” Mom asks.
“Pretty good,” Dallas shrugs, “We’ve just worked on new music. We’re almost ready for this fall’s BATTLE OF THE BANDS.”
Dallas is in a band with his 프렌즈 called, “Never Set Limits”. He plays lead guitar. He and I do some 잼 sessions when his band is taking a break. His 프렌즈 a pretty gorgeous, but can be assholes.
“Congrats on making Total Drama Island,” Emma looks at me.
“Thanks, Em,” I smile, then look at Mom and Dad, “If I can go…?”
They look at each other.
“Well, your father and I talked,” Mom looks back at me, “If this means so much to you, then we see why not. Pack as soon as you’re done with dinner.”
“THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!” I squeal, getting up to hug them both.
I finish my 공식 만찬, 저녁 식사 so quickly I’m surprised I’m not choking, wash my dishes, and run upstairs to pack. I find my large duffle bag (I don’t like suitcases) and begin to just pile 랜덤 outfits into it. Thank goodness I did my laundry last night. I find my 가장 좋아하는 sneakers and flip flops and throw them in, too. I pack my tooth brush, tooth paste, and my other toiletries into their small toiletry bag, but leave it in the bathroom to use in the morning.
What’s that noise? I turn to see the “call receiving” 아이콘 flashing on my computer screen. I walk over and press “answer” and see Ginger’s face appears on my screen.
“I CAN GO!” I squealed before Ginger can say anything, then she just grins.
