So tomorrow is October again. A season of creeps and creatures and all that good shit. And a time of the 년 that I 사랑 to celebrate with horror movies. Back in high school, I reviewed a few horror movies, as rushed as they were. And then I did it again last year, but with a new twist. That being Cultober, where I reviewed nothing but cult horror films. And despite there being a few stinkers, it was one of the most fun Halloweens I had, reviewing 31 horror films… but it’s just so fucking draining. I don’t have as much free time as I used to, and what with In-Indie, NikPiks, and other stuff, I can’t review 31 horror films. But I still want to keep Cultober going, so instead, I introduce 당신 to an ultimatum. Cultober II: The Return. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I will be reviewing two cult horror films that 당신 vote for on the poll. On Saturday, there will be a Corner of Horror, just a regular one where I will review a game 또는 a 랜덤 part of horror as a whole. Cultober will appear on both my main club and on the 랜덤 club, but as for the Corner of Horror articles, they will be exclusive to my club, so don’t be confused if a number suddenly jumps from 145 to 147 the 다음 time I review a Cultober movie. So below is the schedule for the month. The 투표 will be up shortly after this 기사 is up and the link will be in the description. Thank 당신 all so much for 읽기 and I hope 당신 are as excited for Cultober as I am. And if it peaks your interest, I may 업로드 the original Cultober onto the 랜덤 club… who knows
The sky turned as dark as the eerie path in an endless cave as I walked briskly up the pathway of my new house. I finally reached the door and the strong, cold wind howled in my ears and tore away the last of autumn's golden leaves. I took a deep breath, opened the door and cautiously stepped inside. I was greeted 의해 a grand entrance hall and the greatest flight of stairs I've ever seen! I decided to take a tour around this magnificent mansion. "Am I dead 또는 am I alive?" I'd whisper, absolutely stunned. I opened the door of my new bedroom. I felt a buzz of excitement erupt in me. There was a portrait that hung over the king size bed. It was of a girl with long, wavy ginger hair. she wore a navy ball 겉옷, 가운 and her eyes shone like sapphires. I unpacked my bags, got into my PJs and read a chapter of my book.
“You can’t!” I screeched, griping the thick 잔디 beneath my paws.
“The whole forest will belong to the Pack of Shadows!” the dark 늑대 exclaimed enthusiastically, his 모피 flickering like shadows, “No 늑대 will stop us!”
I have to do something! I couldn’t let it end like this! Not with the alpha in this state! Not with the pack 스플릿, 분할 in four!
“Out of my way pup!” he tossed me aside like a tiny mouse.
“No!” I leaped at him, biting and clawing with all my strength.
“This is pointless! 당신 cannot defeat me she-wolf!” I felt him bite me and fling me away again. I was too tired to 옮기기 now, after traveling this far without resting, I can no longer breathe enough to live.
I’m over; this is the end of the Pack of Ice! I lay winded and defeated, awaiting death’s arrival patiently.
1. Leaving holes in the backstory.
As learned from Marty Chan, the human imagination is not only the most beautiful place in the world, it can also be the most horrific. If a person leaves some 우주 empty (ex: "Tara disappeared after the encounter and was never heard from again....") , your mind will immediately fill it in, your imagination coming up with the most grisly scenario possible....
2. Waiting a REALLY long time for the killer/ monster to show up.
The person becomes bored and even slightly drowsy, which makes them 더 많이 vulnerable to fear. If the antagonist pops up about halfway through (especially out of nowhere, and at night) they'll jump up as though just awaken from a nightmare. A little humor will definitely help if you're planning on doing this.
