Have 당신 ever been in therapy?

If so what are your experiences with it? If not, has it been something that 당신 ever had to consider?

Lets facilitate some much mental health discussion XD

Personally Ive been in therapy for a little over two years now and honestly its been a great life changer to helping me get a better control and understanding of myself and at the very least, a place I am comfortable and 안전한, 안전 with expressing my emotions and getting help. Maybe its a bit like paying someone to give a shit about 당신 and help you, but its an important thing to have in some cases.

But there are some really bad professionals in the mental health places too. Dealing with insurance mid-recovery is horrible cause they dont really give a shit about your recovery as much as they care about there money - at least with my shitty insurance that kept me out of therapy for half a 년 since I was taking too long. 또는 a shitty psychiatrist that made strict decisions that did a lot of harm cause she knew best 또는 a shitty group therapist that says they wont force 또는 pressure 당신 to speak if 당신 just attend, then keep pressuring 당신 when 당신 made it clear 당신 dont wanna talk.

But honestly as much as there is shitty professionals, its been a lot of help for me and to be honest, if it were free 또는 cheaper, I believe almost everyone should at least go to a few sessions at some point in their life since even if 당신 dont have a major disorder 또는 anything its really good for getting an understanding of yourself and just working through some of the shitty things in life that those who arent mentally ill still have to suffer though

But alas therapy isnt really cheap 또는 anything and if 당신 dont have a good insurance that cuts the prices of things decently, its actually impossible for some

But those are my thoughts on it

Weelp, 대학 got the best of me and led me to a very dark place in my mind. Somehow I could help myself get out of it because I dare to say that I`m an emotionally strong person and I had awesome boyfriend at the time, but I still feel like I`m not 100% ok, and sometimes that shows. 또는 sometimes I won`t even know why I`m thinking 또는 연기 like this. And I don`t feel like I could talk about these thoughts and things in depth with any relative 또는 friend, but only a professional.

Yeah honestly I would probably think itd help if 당신 could figure out pricing. Shouldnt be too expensive with insurance and some are willing to bargain prices

well, the reason I didn't feel like going back to the same therapist is that he interrupts a lot and jumps from conclusion to another quickly and it making me uncomfortable and nervous.

No . I've never been to a therapy. But I'm at a point where I think I should go and take some sessions !! My dermatologist had given me anti-depressants, sleeping pills and vitamins and he advised me to visit a psychologist . I wanted to go at that time but I was a raid they might share everything with my parents I know every therapist do that despite telling them not to discuss anything (happened to my bestie) I'm not interested to give someone money just to listen to me cause this is what I don't want . Sometimes o dint even know what I want it's so hard to know myself //

Why... is your dermatologist giving 당신 anti-depressants..?? Is that even legal?
Riku114 posted over a year ago

Also very few therapists actually do tell since they are bound 의해 a contract of confidentiality that can only be broken in urgency if the patient is showing extreme concerns of hurting / killing themselves 또는 another and this applies to EVERYONE over the age of either 12 또는 13. Its actually not legal for them to share without permission so that therapist that did that is in the minority and actually did something thats illegal unless your friend was a threat to herself 또는 someone else

I don't know if that was legal but now I am realising that he knew me that baldie had a potential to know my head -_-

Junior 년 of high school my mom had me and my dad go to separate therapy sessions to work on our relationship. It wasn’t helpful for me because I didn’t want to be there so I would tune her out and answer her 질문 as shortly as I could with whatever I thought the “right” answer was. Goes to show 당신 shouldn’t make someone go to therapy because therapy can only help a person who wants it to help them.

Ive had that before though. Less because I didnt want to go but 더 많이 because of the shitty work of my psychiatrist and how she tried to make me talk in front of my mom

Never to psychiatric therapies but I did go to a therapy to help me to walk better. When I was much younger like 20 years ago. I would fall down quite often. For some reason. A corrupt doctor wanted to give me psychotropic mediation My mother was a psych major and she realized that in the long run it was gonna be a lot 더 많이 negative than any supposed good the doctor was saying. She then asked the doctor would they prescribe it to their son if they had it. And he replied but my son doesn't have it. Aka was gonna use me as a guinea pig. I have suspicions it was because of my race. If I took them I definitely would not be able to communicate 또는 do anything normal physically 또는 mentally because it (the drugs) would severely disable me.

After that issue. I eventually went to a physical therapy and I learned to walk alot better. But that is the only therapy I recall taking in my life.

As for mental therapy I do want to take it but it is expensive.

I go every Friday to a personality disorder specialist in Albuquerque. I've been going for a few years now and we're total bros, like, we've met each other's families. He has been indispensable during pregnancy and is still always helping me with motherhood.
It's a little expensive, but I made sure to get insurance with good mental health coverage. It's a $50 co pay still, but it's worth it

Yes, when I was in middle school and high school I was forced to see 3 different cognitive therapists.

I started to dislike the first one and I stopped seeing her.

I only had one scheduled meeting with the 초 one, can't remember why, but I was pissed about being forced to see a 초 one after expressing my dislike for the first one so I refused to talk until almost the very end.

The third one I wasn't happy about going to but it was definitely the best of the three, I kind of got along with the guy, but again I was forced to do it so I wasn't having a spectacular time.

I actually think therapy is very good for you, in lots of cases better for 당신 than medication, but my own personal experience with therapy left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yes, I was being in Therapy for at least three years. Had went before when I was much younger actually but for a very brief amount of time and restarted again on my first 년 at Junior High School all the way till the beginning of Senior one.

For a kid who never felt how ''Childhood'' is supposed to be like, went through a lot of bullying during that time because of being different in certain aspects, had ticks that made everyone (including himself) think he was going crazy and also losing all of his hair at the same time making him get even 더 많이 enclosed to himself in the end / becoming a shut-in, I suppose it was needed.

Those sessions with my Psychologist helped in various ways. Looking over each of my issues and accepting them, being able to stay in control, becoming better in expressing myself, socializing and taking part in activities as well as having a much 더 많이 hopeful outlook in Life which along with proper medication helped a lot with reversing the aforementioned hair loss btw.

Pretty much, Therapy is a major aspect of the improvement in my Life. If I hadn't gone through it and didn't have that much of a supporting Family, I can't even imagine what mess I would still be. There are still various things that I am and need to work in but my situation has been stabilized for the most part.

Currently, I won't hide that I have the desire to get back at it actually. Nothing that major as before but I still feel that it would be nice looking over certain things that are happening in my Life. My former Psychologist is not available anymore and she was the only one I ever held my sessions so that make things a bit 더 많이 complicated. Have been thinking of doing some 더 많이 research and giving other Therapists a go too. Whether, this change will be 더 많이 또는 less effective remains to be seen but have already taken things into consideration !!!!
