I don't go on 페이스북 but some of my family does and they enjoy it. I guess so they can contact others, especially other family members whom we never seen for a long time. My mother loves going on Farmvile. But I have no interest in 페이스북 what so ever.
Well I mean....it's not supposed to be an exciting site xP
As a whole (not for myself, but many others) the reason why people like 페이스북 is it is a way of being noticed, getting recognition, getting 'likes' and for some reason value their worth based on how many people 'like' what they post.
I find that sad, so for me, the reason why I like to use it is for 3 reasons:
1. Keeping in contact with my friends, especially the ones who have moved overseas.
2. Being updated with my uni class, we have a page for our course so we can let each other know stuff that might be happening, deadlines, extensions etc.
3. To be updated with 케이팝 news from all the 케이팝 pages I follow.
I have 프렌즈 from all over the nation, and it is a lot easier to message them on 페이스북 if I want to engage in a casual conversation than calling them. Their 페이스북 업데이트 also allows me to passively have an idea of what is going on in their lives.
I also follow a lot of political 페이스북 pages, like 'being classically liberal' 'guns and reason' and 'Barack Obama's dead fly'. This keeps me updated on recent events.
Then there is the fact that 페이스북 makes it a lot easier to stay in contact with people from church who I may need to contact once in a while even if I'm not 프렌즈 with them.
