What does this mean?

Okay, two weeks ago, my 프렌즈 said: 당신 remind me of Demi Lovato. I said: Thanks! And they said: That's not a compliment.

So what does this mean?? I've been thinking about it for a while now... And they won't answer me when I ask "How?".
