Am I the only one not excited about Moana?

I have some excitement about Moana, because I am so sick of anything related to 겨울왕국 ( which I found to be the worst DP-like film I had ever watched bar none because it was so haphazardly put together). Some part of me definitely believes, like 당신 do, that the constant praise heaped upon the modern girls is undeserved. I find most of the modern girls have personalities that are increasingly combative, and they also resort to taking out their anger on other characters, which makes them automatically diminished in my eyes. ( The only exception to this is Rapunzel, who is accused of being too nice, too bland, and being too much of a throwback to Ariel and Pocahontas).

I'm not standing on my feet while waiting for Moana, because if Moana is just a repeat of Merida's personality, while just set on the sea, I won't like the movie 또는 her that well.

Also, 당신 shouldn't worry about the 3D princesses out-selling the 2D gals. With the exception of Frozen-- which is not in the DP lineup--- the Modern girls don't sell as well as the Classics and Renaissance girls. Most people 사랑 Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel over Rapunzel, Merida, and Tiana.

Haha...you're not the only one. I honestly don't really excited about Moana but still curious to at least saw the movie once. Didn't know why but Moana seems not really impressive for me. I think that movie would be similar like Pocahontas 또는 Brave. But this is just my opinion, maybe it'll be changed after the movie was coming out.

I'm excited about Moana, but that's because I always get excited with new 디즈니 movies. But otherwise, it seems like nothing new, and even though it is POC, that only gives people reasons to hate on it saying it's bad representation. I like Frozen, but I am worried the Moana fandom will turn out like the crazy 겨울왕국 fandom, since there was about this much hype for Frozen. But I do see what 당신 mean.

Same, but tbh Big Hero 6 was the last 디즈니 film I've been excited. Afterwards I haven't looked 앞으로 to any 디즈니 film (bar the Jungle Book remake, but that doesn't count since I mostly look 앞으로 to it since I'm a big 팬 of the original film). I didn't care for Inside Out, Zootopia, the Big Dinosaur, Moana, and whatever else they have in mind.

Dunno maybe i'm just getting too cynical 또는 I'm just growing up. The last time I was truly excited for Disney/Pixar films was in 2012 with Wreck It Ralph and Brave, whom I felt were truly magical. And seeing how i didn't like either 겨울왕국 또는 Tangled, something makes me think Moana and all 다음 Princess films will follow in their vein. Ugh...

I am SO excited! Especially since John Musker and Ron Clements are directing it.

I'm honestly not that excited about Moana. After Mulan, there's been a mixture of good 디즈니 princess 영화 and mediocre ones. 겨울왕국 was beautiful and 라푼젤 was decent, but Brave, Enchanted, Princess and the Frog . . .all sucked in my opinion. Plus all the awful crappy 3d 영화 Disneys been making with 픽사 about hillbilly 공룡 and middle school aged girls who miss their hometowns and run away from 집 and God knows what else. I dont want to watch another movie that's only been made to hammer in a political message 또는 to make money, one with a boring story, crappy music, and worst of all, no romance. There's been no mention, as far as I can see, of Moana having a prince. Even 겨울왕국 wasn't free of a few heavy handed crappy political messages, but being new to 디즈니 princesses and politics when I first watched it I didn't notice anything and still found it beautiful because they put in WORK. Something about this Moana trailer I watched just makes me feel like I will not get a beautiful movie. I swear if there is a 디즈니 princess movie with no prince who plays a considerable part, I will toss it in the trash.
