Sad the writers didn't end S2 this way as was intended "Additional footage of Max after Mandy's call at the end of S2. A woman places her bandaged hand on Max's shoulder. He whispers something in her ear and she bends down to 키스 him. The woman turns out to be Nina Myers, who has been behind it all along. Sadly it was cut because they realized they couldn't possibly explain it given the show's time frame. Dang!
