This is when Artemis dies. Except this time it’s real.

Nightwing was fighting. He saw Kaldur fighting with Artemis; He discreetly took out the blood packet from his belt. He finished off the guys he was fighting with and turned to Kaldur and Artemis. Kaldur pulled out his water sword and stabbed Artemis.
“Artemis” He yelled. Artemis backed away holding her stomach. Nightwing caught her as she fell. He was about to pop the blood packet when he felt something wet on her. He pulled his hand away and saw blood already soaking through her costume.
“Artemis?” he asked. His voice shook as he looked at her wound. Blood was coming out of her stab wound, her blood. Artemis's breaths where coming out as pants. Her eyes started closing.
“Move out the mission is a failure” Kaldur said glancing at the rocket. Suddenly the rocket exploded. Kaldur looked at nightwing and Artemis. Nightwing looked up making eye contact. Kaldur eyes where cold and hard. Nightwing’s eyes widened. He knew that Kaldur killed her on purpose.
“Kaldur” Nightwing said growling. “Kauldur! 당신 killed her” Nightwing yelled. Kaldur looked down on them.
“We are done here” He told the others. They ran back into the ocean. Nightwing did CPR.
“25.26.27.28” Nightwing said while pushing her chest. Miss. Martian and Superboy came to his side.
“I-I don’t hear her heartbeat” Superboy said sadly. Nightwing pinched her nose and breathed into her mouth one last time before giving up.
“She’s dead” He said sadly. He sat back. Tears threatened to spill over.
“She’s dead” he repeated with a sob in his voice.

Atlantic Ocean
A small ship was under the water when a bigger ship came by. The smaller ship went into the bigger ship. Kaldur walked out to Black mantra.
“Congratulations Kaldur”ahm. 당신 had quit a day. Capturing the Atlantean, Killing a former team mate, destroying the comsack”
“My crew did not destroy the comsack, father. Its rocket must have malfunctioned. Our victory was mere luck” Kaldur explained.
“I don’t believe in luck, which is why I arranged to have a bomb smuggled into the rocket days ago. This was your 초 to last test. To see if 당신 would take credit for what 당신 had not accomplished. And your final test was to see if 당신 would abandon the plan 당신 had with the hero’s and actually kill her” He said. He took off his helmet. “You didn’t really think I wouldn’t find out did you? Well in the end 당신 choose to betray them and 가입하기 us. I’m proud of you. You’re ready for the 다음 level” He said.

Mount Justice.
Everyone was mourning. Megan was crying 의해 herself when Beast Boy came and comforted her.
“We will find La’gaan and Aqualad” superboy said.

Nightwing has looking at a holographic screen. On it was a picture of him and Artemis when they were young.
“We’ll laugh about this someday” He whispered to himself. He heard something fall.
“Wally?” Nightwing whispered aloud. Wally walked from behind a crate.
“Hey” He said to Nightwing. “Where’s Artemis? I figured she was with you” Wally said. Nightwing hesitated.
“No. She’s not with me” He said. Wally had a questioning look on his face then he got worried, his breaths turned rapid.
“Where is she” He said worriedly.
“Wally” Nightwing said reaching out his hand to his shoulder. Wally backed away.
“Where. Is. She” Wally said sternly. Nightwing sighed.
“She. The.” Night wing said stumbling. He didn’t know where to start.
“She’s dead Wally. I’m sorry” Nightwing said finally. Wally’s eyes started to water.
“No” Wally whispered. His fist’s clenched and without warning he punched a 나무 상자, 상자 다음 to him. His sadness turned into anger.
“Who! Who killed her?” Wally yelled. Nightwing didn’t say anything. Wally walked right up to him and grabbed his 셔츠 in his fist.
“Tell me” Wally commanded.
“I did” A voice said from behind them. Wally loosened his grip on Nighwing. His eyes were blank. Kaldur came from behind a crate.
“Kaldur what are 당신 doing here” Nightwing said in disgust. Wally still didn’t face Kaldur.
“I came to say good bye. This was my final test. He discovered our group and gave me a choice. I could leave 또는 I could kill Artemis and 가입하기 him”
“And 당신 choose him over us, over Artemis!” Nightwing yelled. Wally’s breath was coming out rapid. Suddenly Wally charged at him.
“Agh” he yelled. He threw a fist but Kaldur caught it.
“Yes I choose to kill Artemis. And I don’t regret it” He said coldly. He kicked Wally in the gut making him slid back to Nightwing. Nightwing took out his eskrima stick.
“I didn’t come her to fight. I came here to tell 당신 that I will no longer help 당신 anymore. And the 다음 time we fight I will not hold back, I will try to destroy you” He said before disappearing into the shadows. Nightwing kneeled down and helped Wally up.
“Are 당신 okay Wally?” Nightwing asked
“No” Wally said very strictly. Nightwing was taken back 의해 the tone of his voice.
“Not until he and the light are dead, all of them” Wally said
“Wally” Nightwing said. “He’s Kaldur, Aqualad”
“Not after this. He is dead meat” Wally said getting up abruptly
“I’m getting my costume out of storage”
“Wally you’re retired”
“Well I’m getting out of retirement until Artemis’s death is avenged. Now 당신 can work with me 또는 get out of my way” Wally said staring him down. Nightwing sighed.
“I don’t know” He said with a shake in his voice.
“I thought that everything 당신 went through 당신 would understand” He said. He walked away leaving Nightwing alone.

Palo Alto
Wally was in the apartment that Artemis and he shared together. He had trashed the apartment in a rage. He sat on the 침상, 소파 and started crying. The dog they shared walked to Wally and whimpered.
“I miss her too” Wally said. He walked to the bedroom. It still smelled like her. He opened a drawer and pulled out his Kid Flash ring.
“Time to come out of retirement” He said.
