She could already tell, walking into Gotham Academy, who was placed in what groups. The cheerleaders, the jocks, the academics, the outsiders, the champions, the legends, and club presidents. She sighed as she walked past each group. She didn't have to look at students to know which group they were in. The cliques were easily spotted. Going to her locker, Becca Stevens ignored all noise that headed her way. She opened her locker, placing all her stuff inside. She saw a blonde haired girl 다음 to her. A quick glance at her neighbor had Becca guessing several things. This girl was an A-plus student, a track and field star, and was president of the archery club. The girl caught her staring, and Becca looked away.
“Hi. My name's Artemis. 당신 must be new here.”
“Becca. Yes I am. And 당신 must be the track and field star, archery club president, and an amazing student.”
Artemis looked at her and smiled.
“I don't know how 당신 did that, but you're pretty good.”
Becca smirked.
“It's a gift. I've acquired a knowledge from my moving.”
“How many times have 당신 moved?”
“About eight.”
“And you're how old?”
“Thirteen. I used to live in a traveling circus. Now I don't.”
“I see. Well try your skills on that boy right there.”
Artemis pointed to a red haired boy. He was smiling and laughing with his 프렌즈 and Becca could instantly see several things. She turned to Artemis with a smirk.”
“Too easy. He is a class clown, only excelling in science, and is the 십자가, 크로스 country star. Never one to back down from a challenge, I'm guessing he has too many scars to count.”
Artemis threw her head back and laughed, causing Becca to smile in return.
“That's Wally West. 당신 pined him perfectly. Let me see...oh! Her.”
Becca glanced at the rustic red haired girl Artemis pointed out. She was easy to see, but not easily noticed in her crowd.
“Seriously? Easy. That, Artemis, is a cheerleader. But she is to be seen and not heard. My guess? She is a 상단, 맨 위로 notch student, bubbly and cheerful, yet stands down to her leader.”
“Wow. How do 당신 do that?”
“I have ways. What's her name?”
“Megan Morse. What about her?”
Becca looked to a girl standing 다음 to Megan with blonde hair.
“Captain of the cheer squad. Never likes to be out of her crowd and pretends she is as friendly as Megan. 더 많이 than likely, she is just a girl with tons of money and practically runs the school.”
Artemis nodded and looked back. She pointed this time to a girl with black hair.
“What about her? She's used to be 프렌즈 with Cassie Sandsmark but nobody knows why they aren't anymore. Her name is Zatanna”
Becca tilted her head and studied the girl. A small smile lit her face.
“Used to be cheerleader. But she was too good for Cassie's liking and now is kicked off. She has to be leader of the magic club, and a 상단, 맨 위로 notch student. Straddling the fine line between field 별, 스타 and just a background player.”
Artemis looked at Becca for a 초 time, eyeing her carefully.
