The room was painted with a mixture of shadows and moon light. The house was silent, minus the sound of the wood creaking. The girl was asleep, a smile painted across her face. She stepped into the light, kneeling beside her.
“Hello child. Bella Morta calls you.”
She reached to take the child, but found someone already had. She heard the swish of a coat.
“And what does Death want with her?”
She stood.
“Terror.”
She faced where he stood in the shadows.
“Give me my child.”
“Lizzie would be safer with a pack of 늑대 than with you.”
He heard her laugh.
“My child is safest with me.”
“Not while Death controls you.”
She pulled out her gun and pointed it at him.
“Hand. Me. My. Child!”
“Don't point that thing. 당신 may hit her.”
She froze and he could see her eyes flash brown. They turned back to red.
“I want my child!”
“Good bye Becca.”
He backed away, keeping a tight hold on the girl in his arms. She heard him 옮기기 and came closer. All she found was the wall. She growled and replaced her gun.
“Next time Monster.”
He tumbled in the shadows, keeping her close. He hit ground. Terror sat up and looked at the child in his arms. The marking on her neck was pulsing a silver color. He knew it was dangerous to bring a child of light into the dark realms of the shadows. But he had had no other choice. He knew shadows could not kill, but they could change a child of light drastically. He stood with her in his arms and made his way home. He stepped inside the threshold and placed her on the bed. He closed the door quickly.
“You bring a child.”
He turned to the voice, nodding.
“Yes. The war has begun and she was a pawn.”
“I'm glad 당신 brought her.”
He sat 다음 to his guest.
“I had no clue 당신 were coming tonight.”
“I wasn't aware of it either.”
“Did they find you?”
“No. Almost.”
Terror nodded and looked at the small fire. He took several breaths, watching the flame flicker. 이미지 passed through the fire, each one pulsing with new life. A cup was pushed in his hands and Terror looked away from the fire.
“Here. Drink.”
“Not yet.”
His guest moved behind him.
“It's pulsing.”
“I feel it.”
“Remove your shirt. Let me see.”
Without a 초 thought, Terror pulled off his trench 코트 and shirt. The marks on his back were pulsing, giving off a dark blue light. A hand slid down his back.
“Terror...”
“There's a lot of fear tonight Kid.”
He let out a sudden growl, clenching his hands into fists. Hands were placed on his, causing them to relax. His guest whispered in his ear.
“I wish I could help.”
“Just...get me the drink.”
The cup, which had been left 의해 the fire, was pushed back into his hands. He downed the drink, leaning against his guest.
“Feel better?”
“Yes. They pulsing?”
“No. But 당신 got a new one.”
“Figures.”
They heard a light moan and both turned to the bed. The girl on the 침대 was waking up. And she had become a young woman.
