It&# 39; s not the rock &# 39; n&# 39; roll that concerns me so...
It's not the rock 'n' roll that concerns me so much as how much Pedobear approves

I think it kind of has to be rockish. I mean, he's singing about how extremely passionate music makes him feel...I don't think it would really fly if he was singing a slow ballad about it. I think the biggest problem is how it immediately follows "Beautiful" which IS kind of a ballad, and there's really no lead-in to it. One moment the music is swelling romantically and the next it breaks into an electric guitar. I think that's what keeps the song from working.

It really isn't any worse in the rock dept as the Steve Harley music vid of the title song, so I can kind of live with that aspect. The soundtrack, though, is deeply disturbing to listen to on this song for other reasons.

Ha, Phantomess, good point. I like the song fine, but the constant YSSSSSSSSSSSSing is a bit much...

Phantom Reviews said that they took that out of the show. SMART.

It's a good song that is a bit reminiscent of the original play's titular song (that one was a bit out of place as well, what with the synthesizer and bass) but the first thing I thought of with that line of "he is so beautiful / perhaps too beautiful" was how creepy it was. And Gustav goes from choir boy one second to demonic hell-spawn with the YES!!!!! Creepy

I hardly even listen to this song on the soundtrack... the constant moaning of Gustave is just too much for me.

I do like Love Never Dies but i think the "YES!!!!!" part is a bit too over the top, and awkward, i can imagine going 2 see it in Febuary and cringing at that moment.
However some changes have been made to improve the show, so i'm hoping they've changed that part!! :)

The Beauty Underneath is my motto. as someone interested in.. The stuff you find in V.C. Andrews books (researching) and Disney's Song of the South, said to be racesict, but I like the plot. I totally get it

I don't blame the song for how Harry Polden chose to shout out his "Yes!"...es.

I just try to ignore his over-excited tone and not over-think the - I acknowledge - interpretable lyrics.
Because in fact the song is cool and has a very moving meaning.

And no, I do not think it's too rock-ish. Well, come to think of it maybe a [i]little[/ï] bit, but not enough to mention 'less asked.

I feel like the rock style demonstrates how much times have changed over the ten years and how people are coming up with new ideas and views that once seemed impossible or inappropriate.
