상단, 맨 위로 10 reasons for why Erik/Christine doesn’t work.

Yes, I know I was supposed to 게시하기 my 사랑 Never Dies rant before, but… this is really to help me write it.

So, short story. Before coming on Fanfiction, I already knew that almost everyone on Earth were E/C shippers. But I was still shocked of seeing the ridiculous number of E/C authors, especially that there are very good ones among them. Now, I’m not being rude, it’s okay to like the E/C pairing (I guess…), but I’m just being really honest. I remember, when I entered the phandom, I was a mild R/C shipper (You know, “I prefer...

I was watching the silent Lon Chaney version of "The Phantom of the Opera" earlier on TCM, and I began to do some pondering about the many Phantom movies.

When someone thinks of The Phantom of the Opera, often there are two iconic 이미지 that will come to mind. One is the famous unmasking of Lon Chaney, rightfully recognized as one of the very iconic 이미지 of not only horror, but of cinema itself. His face makeup is taken from the original novel's 설명 of Erik, as someone with a horrible deformity from birth that gives him a terrifying corpse-like appearance.

The 초 iconic image...

Chapter 1
Genevieve’s Wish

(Child’s POV)

My name is Genevieve de Changy. I am five years old and want to be a doctor when I grow up. Papa is off on his naval ship, again, and Mama is at the Opera rehearsing. My Governess gave me this diary to help me with my penmanship. After this we sewed, (which is important for doing surgery,) then we took my sketchbook to the park, parc de l'île Saint-Germain, it is so pretty there when the sun is out! If only that rabbit would sit still for me! My Governess taps me on the shoulder,
“Time to go in.”
It is so hard to get up with my corset squeezing...

After Christine returned Erik his mask, she asked about his opera Don Juan Triumphant.
“You are 글쓰기 an Opera?”
“It’s about Don Juan and his obsession with a beautiful woman.”
“You mean like Faust?
“Awww but It doesn’t end tragically for Don Jaun gets to live happily with his true love!
“So it’s a fairytale?”
“No Daun Jaun has sex with many women” Erik answered
“Why are 당신 drawn to a man like that/” Christine is horrified.
“Because doesn’t anyone deserves 사랑 ” Erik declared
“That’s not 사랑 that’s bestial!” Christine exclaims.
“I give 당신 back your...

I have no name, my mother didn’t bother to give me one, I am just known as The Phantom. The young ballerinas of the Opera christened me that, and, it just fit. No human name ever fits me, maybe that's because I’ve never looked human so I’ve never felt human. It's 더 많이 than that though, I’ve never felt like a “Him” 또는 a “Her” I feel like a “Them” I guess 또는 an “It” but that’s too literal! A ghost must be mysterious and be able to disappear into the shadows of the darkness, into ambiguity. As a them I am alone! I want to marry a beautiful woman to prove to others I am...

This particular version of The Phantom of the Opera is set in Peter Pan’s London. As The Musical Peter Pan is almost 70 years old, The original creator of the Saint Joan opera is long dead, and thus the role of Phantom has been passed on to me. Thus, the Musical Peter Pan was stolen from me, along with my humanity, as Saint Joan was stolen, from Professor L. Petrie. It Starts with a beautiful Broadway 별, 스타 Mary Martin, (who is my Christine,) who drew in children with her performance of Peter Pan, Saint Joan of Arc pretending to be of the masculine gender with a dagger. Your Phantom at the...

I saw The Phantom of the Opera when I was 12, and I heard the Original 런던 Cast Recording of 사랑 Never Dies when I was 16. 의해 then my life had gone through some MAJOR changes. For one thing, my Dad died 2.75 months after I saw The Phantom of the Opera on stage (believe it 또는 not) and my life was continuing to get worse, so my personality like the characters in "Love Never Dies" changed with life. What I'm trying to say is "Misery loves company" especially from close friends. When I was 13 I had read "The Phantom of Manhattan" so it was not a surprise to me when Christine died. :(!

Paris, 1890, nine years after the events of 'The Phantom of the Opera'. Nine years in which all thoughts of Erik, the 앤젤 who'd once haunted her 일 and night had been cast aside, discarded like a broken doll. Nine years in which poor, sixteen 년 old Christine had grown up, grown up into a women of high reputation, with a handsome young husband and prospects of a child.

So much can change in nine years.

Yet it only takes a little to be hurled back into the past.

Chapter One :

Paris is host to a number of fine hospitals, all which produce many a fine baby from many a fine mother. It is a particular...

Illustration from Kay novel. He certainly looks depressed.
This 기사 shall pertain to the 'holy trinity' of Phantom. The Leroux, Kay, and Andrew Lloyd Webber versions. The basic idea is to look at each individual portrayal of the Phantom and ascertain approximately the extent of his mental deterioration and psychosis. I will also discuss the probable causes and catalysts for these behaviours.
This is 의해 no means a full psychoanalysis, and in the long run is only meant to calm me down with some logical thinking after a very bad week. I.E. 당신 don't have to like it 또는 agree with it.
I shall begin with Leroux since that is the original perception of...

Well firstly, I'd like to say that I watched the Australian Cast Recording (not being lucky enough to see it in life) and the staging/costumes/set were superb! Really, in some scenes I felt as if I were looking at a real bar/circus/etc that one might go into on a weekend quite casually.
The 노래 was equally wonderful from most parties - I particularly enjoyed Ben Lewis as the Phantom, the 연기 mostly on the same level. However, I much prefer the songs of the original Phantom of the Opera.
And now for the plot. Christine, now married to the suddenly 쓴, 쓰라린 Raoul, and with a musically talented...

Hi everyone, it's been coming to 9 years since I watched the musical in Singapore. I have always want to write this review of the stage version since I had did a comparison on both the movie and stage version!

The Staging

I was stunned 의해 the staging because it was such a spectacular, colourful and whimsical, I also like how each scenes represent dark & light throughout the musical. It was like bringing the realism of what it's like of Palais de Garnier, on which the story is set.
One of my major disappointments was that I did not sit in front where the dramatic chandelier came crashing...

There are various interpretations of why the old Raoul brings the monkey 음악 box to her grave and some even think that all the old Raoul parts of the movie are completely useless. However, I'm one of those who believe that while the film would've worked perfectly well even without Raoul travelling anywhere with the 음악 box, all the old Raoul clips are perhaps the most essential aspect of the entire film's basic point. I think they are the ultimate aspect that drastically differs the film from the stage play.

A monkey symbolizes many things that are strongly related to the story. Essential...

My Brutally Honest and Possibly Offensive Review of the 2004 Movie

I’m sitting 집 sick from school with absolutely nothing better to do than write my (well, just read the title) review of the 2004 movie The Phantom of the Opera. Gerry phans and Patrick Wilson phans…I’d consider not 읽기 this. So, here I am: putting Phantom in my DVD player and beginning to write down my 랜덤 thoughts and reactions about it. 당신 can be assured that it will be disorganized, random, completely honest, offensive, and a little inappropriate (just like me).

I actually can't see it as a sequel to any version but especially not to the film. "The true feelings of Christine and the Phantom are revealed in LND!" I'm a die-hard E/C shipper but still I genuinely react with: Fuck no. Forgive me the strong phrasing but I 사랑 logic very much as well as the depth of their relationship which LND completely shits over.

Then someone comes saying LND isn't a sequel to the film but to ALW's PotO. But also that the film and the stage play are exactly the same thing. (Contradicting much?) Well, officially they are not exactly the same thing:

Andrew Lloyd Webber:...

What Annoys Me About The Phantom of Manhattan 의해 Frederick Forsyth

All of the Leroux-bashing:

In the Preface, Forsyth repeatedly points out errors in Leroux’s novel, most of which are trivial and pointless (OMG! He said the chandelier was heavier than it really was! Shun Leroux!). And he keeps pointing out how Andrew Lloyd Webber “fixed” the errors, which brings me to…

Treating Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version like its perfect and the only “right” one:

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage show isn’t perfect. That being said, some parts of it were better in his version than in Leroux’s,...

Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defences ...

turn your thoughts away
from cold, unfeeling light -
and listen to the 음악 of the night ...

Close your eyes and surrender to your

Purge your thoughts of the life

Close your eyes,
let your spirit start to soar!
