I thought I would take a few moments and jot down some thoughts I have about 슈퍼맨 and Christopher Reeve as I begin building this spot that actually means a great deal to me. It has gotten me to thinking about my childhood and growing up watching all of the 슈퍼맨 films.

슈퍼맨 (the Movie) is one of my 가장 좋아하는 films of all time. Though I didn't enjoy the sequels as much (with the exception of 슈퍼맨 II), I fell in 사랑 with 슈퍼맨 and his alter ego Clark Kent from the start. But I actually fell in 사랑 with Christopher Reeve. I was absolutely, without a doubt in 사랑 with the. In a way, he was my first love. 당신 know that's kind of funny to me now, looking back and realizing it to be true.

I watched 슈퍼맨 and 슈퍼맨 II over and over again. I remember particularly enjoying the 사랑 story parts. I really liked when he was Clark Kent and his interactions with Lois Lane. One part that stands out to me even now is the part in the the original film where he and Lois get mugged. He secretly saves her and she never even knows. I also enjoyed when Lois fell in the water at Niagra Falls, expecting 슈퍼맨 to save her and being disappointed when he didn't (when in fact he actually did). And then when she actually figured out without a doubt that Clark Kent was superman, I would rewind that part over and over and watch it. Funny, while boys were rewinding a certain part of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, here I was rewinding Superman. Dorky I know, but I loved it. And I never grew tired of watching it.

I even watched the Making of 슈퍼맨 over and over. Christopher Reeve hosted it, with his 70s looking hair. That shaggy hair bothered me though. I wanted him to have 슈퍼맨 hair all the time, I suppose. So funny looking back on that now.

When I found out that Christopher Reeve had the accident that paralyzed him, it really affected me. This man, that I still loved after all these years, was not the "man of steel" I had always thought he was. He had become so much 더 많이 than that through all of his causes and becoming a spokesperson for those who were going through the same thing. It is still amazing to me the kind of man he became as a result of the trials and hardships he had faced.

When he passed away, I was deeply saddened for quite a while. In a lot of ways it was like losing a member of the family 또는 a friend you've had forever. I grew up watching him, whether it was 슈퍼맨 또는 Somewhere in Time 또는 whatever film. I shall never forget this extraordinary man and how he was truly 더 많이 of a super man than I had ever perceived as a child.
