Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Thirty Eight
I had watched Clay do a number of things. It was kind of boring. But he was doin' some hard workouts.
I was now sitting in Clay's truck. Well, I was sitting in the 침대 of the truck. They went on a run and there was no way I was going to run with them. Especially with my knee right now. I was so upset with myself. I could not stay on a 황소, 불 today. But it's been like that for a while now. It seems like. Maybe this talent Abigail and Bryce were talking about is really beginner's luck. That would explain my winning streak and the losing streak.
All the sudden I heard my name and it pulled me from my thoughts.
"You really think her mom tried to drown her," a guy's voice said.
"I don't know," Clay's voice said, "look at how she flipped when Phillip held her over the pool."
"Yeah, that scream was 더 많이 than I can't swim scream," the guy's voice said.
I sat up in the truck and looked around and saw Clay walking this way with a guy. I had met him but I couldn't think of his name. I am horrible at remembering names.
"Having fun," I asked.
"Yeah, it wasn't too bad today," Clay said.
"Yeah that's true. But I'm starving now! Y'all wanna go grab a bite to eat," the guy asked.
"Maybe another time. We have church tonight," Clay said.
"Again," the guy asked.
"Yeah, I go every Wednesday night," Clay stated, "you wanna come with us? I'm sure my mom and grandma are cooking up something good!"
"Naw, not tonight," he stated, "thanks though!"
"Okay, see ya around," Clay said.
"Bye, it was nice to me you," I said as I hopped down.
"You too," he said, "see ya Clay."
The boys I met today didn't really have a thick accent like the family and the town we live in.
"Bye," Clay said.
We hopped into the cab of the truck and took off towards home. The windows were down and my hair was blowing everywhere. Clay rolled the windows up.
"I can just pull my hair back," I stated, "it's no big deal!"
"I picked 당신 up a hat the other day. I hope it fits," Clay said as his hand went behin his seat.
"You did," I said stunned.
"Of course," he said smiling, "One of them is your 가장 좋아하는 color too! Technicually, I got 당신 two!"
"Two," I said shocked, "you didn't have to get me anything."
"I saw both of these and couldn't decide which one 당신 would like better," he stated.
I watched as his hand finally found the hat. He pulled it between the seats. It's a black cowgirl hat and the other one is nutural color.
"Wow, they're beautiful," I said in awe, "thank 당신 so much!"
"I figured 당신 would want a lighter color to work in so it wouldn't get to hot. Then, I thought 당신 would like the black one to ride bulls in and have it for the winter," he said as I looked at him stunned, "what is it? Do 당신 really like em?"
"I do! Thank 당신 so much! 당신 just put so much thought into buying these for me," I said, "Thank 당신 again! I'll give 당신 hug when we get home!"
"Okay good," he said relieved. "try them on!"
I put the nutural colored at on and it fit perfectly.
"It fits perfectly," I said smiling.
"Good," he smiled as he rolled the windows back down.
I noticed the 음악 changed as we were in the truck. It didn't have a heavy beat. Also, there is not much 또는 any southern accent to the singers in this song. I guess Clay had different 음악 besides country on his phone.
Once we got home, I was a little embarrassed to be wearing such a big hat. Everyone in the family had one like this and they even wore theirs. It was just different for me. I would get use to it. It will kill Clay if I didn't wear just because I was embarrassed.
I got out of the truck and went around to hug Clay.
"Thank 당신 again," I said.
"No problem," he said.
I went back to the other side of the truck and grabbed the rest of my stuff.
"Hey darlin' how was yalls' day," Abagail asked we got through the door.
"It was good! I improved on my push ups," Clay said.
"Yeah he did real well," I added, "I fell off of every 황소, 불 I rode this moring."
"Awe, that's great Cly," Abigail said, "I'm sorry to hear that Harmony! How is the knee?"
"It's fine," I said, "I'm gonna go get ready church."
"Okay, try and hurry," she said.
"Will do," I said, "thanks again Clay, for the hats!"
"No problem," he said happily.
