Some can be but anything can be cheesy, not just musicals.

Mostly all of them. I hate musicals! -_- It's all like "Yeah we are going to dance on the school lunch tables and sing and be noisy and not get in trouble. We are also going to do flips off the walls, lockers, and our cars. Don't worry about the dents and scratches we make on the cars because our parents won't yell at us." But I went to go see a play/musical live called "Wicked" for part of a school field trip. That was actually pretty good and I liked it. Grease is a little bit okay too. That's it for musicals.
