my opinion on why everyone is so invested in it, is cause it sort of a sign of happiness and joy. it like with all the bad things in the world with natural disasters, terrorism, etc. it gives us like hope and for like that few 분 we forget about stuff like that and the focus is on the good in the world. ;D
