How does this relate to my theroy? Ash never had a birthday in a long time in real life. He is 12 I would think and events that people say that are yearly is actually monthly. The only proof that I have is that Ash is still the same age (in this case 12) then curtain events that happen yearly occur. So a Pokemon 년 is 5 times longer than in real life.
