Aaron hollered a battle cry and rushed into the shadows, not thinking..just acting. Michael and I waited in anticipation for a sign from Aaron, the longer we waited the 더 많이 scared/anxious I got. I had to control my reaction, I understand that he is upset..and that his daughter was broken...but this was still my brother we were talking about. How could he be enjoying himself when he was...

"Hey..put me down." She cried as she hit Emmett's back in protest.

My father and I ate in silence, I did my best to focus on dinner, but couldn't stop myself from watching Ruthie out of the corner of my eye. I wasn't sure what I would do, but I knew that if someone was rude to her I would not be able to stop myself.

"Yeah..great." I said so softly that he wouldn't hear me.

"Will 당신 come back to check on Piper?" I asked as I watched her.

"Yes dear, we will be back tomorrow." She said as she rubbed Piper down one 더 많이 time and turned to walk out of the barn.
