Yes; not only they formed the last solid part of Will and Lyra's touch but they were similar to what their personalities were; Will liked cats, and it was a cat that brought him to Lyra. Also, the strength of his daemon cat reflected the strength of himself, and his loving side; 고양이 aren't always hissy and vicious! Meanwhile, the book often says about how an ermine was Pan's favourite form, and ermines are in the same family as pine martens, only not as strong 또는 powerful (which are some of Lyra's qualities). Although some people may argue that Kirjava was usually a bird, this is only because it reflected how Will was feeling at the time (in 사랑 and joyous) and showed how Will and Lyra were witch-like in the sense that they had bird daemons that they could stay away from.

Best answer. Exactly what I was going to say. I wont bother answering the question, now. :P
I guess so. They didn't seem like wrong forms, anyway. We don't actually know much about the meanings of different forms and how they're chosen. We only know little things like dog forms being common for servants, predator forms meaning a dominant personality, and forms suiting a person's life circumstance (like a sailor having a sea animal daemon, and the witches having bird forms)
