Stelena is dead; only its body hasn’t been released yet, so that we still can’t dance on its grave, but that doesn’t change the fact that the SE relationship is just a lifeless corpse. If Stefan were meant to be the hero of the story and Stelena to be THE couple, it would have all been done in a completely wrong way. People can relate much easier with emotions than with only words. SE have no build up, no chemistry, no tragedy, nothing special and no unique story elements; all that they were about is "cheese" and pretending.
Damon had to go through immense heartache, torture and rejection all of his existence, while all his journey is about love, because what he really wants and desperately needs, is to be truly loved for himself and how he really is, but he has never had any hope, support 또는 love. Damon permanently proves to have an incredible unselfishness, even without ever believing that he really is a good person, he painfully improved his character to its best version, only his weaknesses are still there, but nothing really bad is left, and he always puts Elena, her happiness, safety and needs, first and does everything for her, without caring about himself. And now that Damon at last – after all of his suffering and heartache – is truly loved for the first time in all his existence, 의해 the person that means most to him and is the only "thing" that makes him happy, he still thinks that he doesn’t deserve to be loved and to find happiness, and he doubts that this 사랑 is real. Damon resists the fulfillment of his biggest dream and most desperate need to do the right thing; he doesn’t give in to the temptation although Elena practically throws herself at him, but he allows her to be around him, what is also painful for him, and continues looking for the cure although he expects to lose Elena again with it. And Damon undoubtedly deserves to be rewarded for his selflessness, heartache and painful and heart-breaking journey; he and we viewers need a sense in and a reason for all of his suffering and pain as well as a repayment for him as justice after his strenuous development despite his suffering.
And Damon is clearly portrayed to be the better man, brother and person, he is the hero of the story, but just looking at the fact that both brothers have good AND bad sides, and both a good heart, while the people around them prefer and support Stefan, already shows that the audience is led to sympathize with Damon who is presented to have the best character – when 당신 look closely into the story. Damon is the 의해 far most beloved character of TVD, like Delena are the 의해 far most beloved couple of the show, and there is a reason for that. The people in the story have an incomplete knowledge, they have not seen much of Damon’s goodness 또는 of how loving and legendary DE are together, and the show-runners have to keep up the suspence and the angst, but Damon only gets 더 많이 and 더 많이 loved and supported 의해 the 팬 whenever he is hurt, put down 또는 hated, with his obvious goodness and unselfishness being ignored and even defamed.
Stefan wanted to have Elena erased from his memory when he found out that she loves Damon, Stefan wanted her to restlessly vanish out of his life and showed his disrespect for their relationship with that decision, and he still wants to leave and start his own life (what is a good thing). But Damon doesn’t mind all of the pain that he had to endure because it led him to Elena, and that was already true before they got together, everything for him is about Elena, he promised to never leave her again, and it is just not possible for Delena to be without each other and to stop falling 더 많이 and 더 많이 for the other. Damon always glorifies Stefan and justifies his actions, while Stefan several times expresses his bad opinion about his brother, and we can blame neither of those two because that is what they have always been told, but that point also causes the people around them to prefer Stefan and the audience to sympathize 더 많이 with Damon; neither Stefan nor the other people inside of the story – except for Elena – know the real Damon, not even broken Damon realizes his true self. DE are perfectly fitting for each other in every way, they are extremely drawn to the other, and they are true, real, honest, mature and perfect together. Delena know and understand each other like nobody else can, Elena doesn’t allow Damon to skrew up their relationship while he always puts her first. Their 사랑 is unconditional and eternal and can never be destroyed, they built the perfect foundation for their 사랑 and have the best requirements – as closest and best 프렌즈 with the most intense chemistry ever – to stay happily together always and forever.
DE have MANY similarities, in their characters as well as in their histories, they were VERY much alike already from the start and still become 더 많이 and 더 많이 like each other. Delena fulfill the requirements for twin flames, but their own qualities sometimes annoy them in the other, and they know that they always get back from the other what they give. So, that makes it harder for them to deal with each other, but it also makes them 더 많이 fitting for one another, because they know and understand each other completely and find the best way in dealing with the other. And even besides those similarities, the whole story is FULL of signs, hints and parallels that prove DE to be THE couple of TVD, to be meant for each other 의해 destiny and to end up together – while no other couple has anything like Delena’s predetermination, connection, alikeness, unique scenes and special moments.
So, let both brothers tear at, 키스 and carress Elena in the promotion clips and pictures while she seems to enjoy it, because that is NOT what goes on in the story. There are dreams, hallucinations and visions, DE always have an 믿을 수 없는 chemistry, and we were given the hints, parallels and foreshadowing from the beginning and already saw the development of the story from the start. But although another impression is created 의해 all of that, and with normally both brothers being involved in helping Elena (no matter who her official boyfriend is at that time), Elena is an EXTREMELY loyal person; she never "switched" back and forth between the Salvatore brothers. Elena’s immature relationship with Stefan never really had a chance to work out for good, while she could never escape her steadily growing 사랑 for Damon; Elena fought hard for Stefan and against her feelings for Damon, until she couldn’t hide from the obvious anymore. And she will now stick with the same loyalty to her mature and honest relationship with Damon and continue fighting for their mutual love, what will work out because they have true love, are best 프렌즈 and fit perfectly together in everything. While Elena always had to struggle with her emotions and never knew what she wanted 또는 what 사랑 is as she was still with Stefan, Elena stopped being torn and found ultimate certainty about what – and who – she wants now that she is with Damon.
Delena develop together and each other, they redeem one another and were led to get together, and there has to be a reason for that and a sense in the development of the story. Elena’s relationship with Stefan made DE find their way to each other, like the Delena relationship leads Stefan to focus on himself and his own way, and I sincerely hope that he will start it soon, because his personal journey sounds promising – if he just would finally begin it. Stefan is only kept in the 삼각형 의해 what the people around them say and want, but the different ways to each one’s happiness (Damon: being truly loved for his true self, Elena: growing up and combining all of her sides, Stefan: facing reality and finding self-acceptance and contol) make it clear that DE need to end up together while Stefan obviously has another way. There are 더 많이 and 더 많이 hints and parallels with each episode so that it becomes steadily clearer that Delena are the endgame couple. Damon has to get a reward for his heartache, his unselfishness and the improvement of his character, and the story will only reach ultimate completeness with DE staying together for good in the end, while each one of the three will forever 사랑 the other two.
I want to take a closer look on the first 사랑 confessions of Delena. Those were really intense moments, and they had several parallels; it was about what Damon has always desperatedly needed, but what he never had. And Damon’s actions and reactions in those scenes were extremely moving, very well acted and shown to us in detail. In his first 사랑 confession, Damon called loving Elena "the most selfish thing that he has ever done in his life", tears were running down his cheeks, and he had to renew his confession at a later time because he compelled her to forget it. In her first 사랑 confession, Elena called loving Damon "the most real thing that she has ever felt in her entire life", Damon showed an enormous happiness, he was totally overwhelmed with emotions, and it was something completely new for him, and Elena had to renew it at a later time because she was sired while she said it. Those are wonderful, emotional and perfect scenes, my favourite moments in all of their beautiful and unforgettable 사랑 story, and the sense as well as the beauty of Elena’s confession can only be kept when her 사랑 for Damon is real – what it undoubtedly is (and I expect much for their first MUTUAL [not "effected"] 사랑 declaration). Just think about the motel scene, the "right 의해 you" scene and the morning after that, the "You." scene, DEx etc., and all of the other tragic, special and intense moments that prove DE to be the unique, unforgettable and legendary couple that they are. DE are always so tender and so passionate with each other at the same time, they have everything together and fit together perfectly. And after all of those scenes and all the other moments like that, no matter if they are sweet 또는 hot 또는 whatever, and ESPECIALLY after both of the first "I 사랑 you"’s and Elena’s "as good as proposal", Delena MUST be endgame – there is no way around that.
There is no 더 많이 story left for the SE relationship, we already went through everything about it, while the DE relationship is even without Stefan still exciting through the people around them being against it, through broken Damon’s insecurities and through so many other things. There is so much left for Delena, and they are always best friends, while Stelena building a friendship, has the potential to be interesting – given the situation and their history. And Stefan needs to be not chosen to finally 옮기기 on, his character has the potential to be worth watching if it will just develop. DE can never be destroyed, but keeping Stefan from moving on, totally ruins his character; Delena have enough other obstacles that keep them loved and cared for 의해 most of the viewers as THE tragic couple of the story, and obstacles and delays are one of the reasons for DE’s huge popularity. Stelena keep secrets from each other and their obstacles ruined them, while Delena keep secrets together and their obstacles only bring them closer, what is an important difference. And there is no need for a "big proof" of the strength of DE’s mutual true love, because everything in the story already proves it to be unconditional, eternal and indestructible.
I am aware that most of 당신 don’t agree with me, but I have always liked the "sire bond storyline", although I suffered like always so deeply with Damon. But Elena’s 사랑 for Damon was proven from the start to be real, the bond gave Damon the chance to prove his selflessness AGAIN, and it still allowed Delena to stay the tragic couple of the story, kept apart 의해 the circumstances and the people around them. DE could still be about longing, yearning, missing and resisting, even while being in a relationship, and Damon kept his heartache and his insecurities, what are aspects that cause 의해 far most of the 팬 to ship Delena and mostly 사랑 and feel with Damon. And the sire bond makes it possible that we get many important steps in the DE journey twice, because Delena have to renew them again when Elena isn’t sired anymore (one time literally for the first time, and one time with everybody finally believing it). DE get steadily closer throughout the story, and it becomes constantly less believable that they won’t end up together, but Delena won’t stay together for good until they have finished their individual as well as their shared development completely – what will undoubtedly happen sooner 또는 later, because the story clearly leads there; no other end would make any sense. Stefan is not – and in my opinion never has been – a real threat for DE’s relationship, so that I am not bothered 의해 any wrong arguments 또는 fake signs for SE, because Delena and their mutual true 사랑 are absolute strong and indestructible, and only Stefan’s reputation in public suffers 의해 keeping him stuck in the triangle.
So, this is my plea to let Stefan separate himself 더 많이 from DE to allow him to improve his character, what he really CAN’T do while he is kept in the 삼각형 like that. It is usually easier to develop outside of a relationship, Damon did most of his development while he wasn’t chosen; but Damon can still improve himself even in his relationship with Elena, what just wouldn’t work for Stefan. Stefan is so much better to watch as badass Stefan than as "cheesy" Stefan, most 팬 prefer him in the moments when he struggles with himself and his control 또는 in his "ripper phases" than when he is with Elena; I personally enjoyed Stefan most in the flashbacks when he met Klaus and Rebekah. Damon, Klaus and others are still dark, funny and themselves, even when they do good things; Damon is ALWAYS sarcastic, straight, direct, dark and funny, even when he acts on his good heart. So, while the others are always exciting to watch, Stefan is only interesting in his dark phases 또는 "struggling moments", and he absolutely needs to finally develop, what he can only do 의해 himself. Stefan has to focus on himself, he is about to 옮기기 on, and he shouldn’t be denied the chance to develop, while Delena NEED to end up together. They can all still each work on their characters as well as on their relations with both others, but DE have to be made clear as THE couple now, and Stelena have to be made clear to be over for good – what they really are –, because Delena have to be endgame, and Stefan has to start his own way to redemption and salvation.
