His name was Alec. Kate had named the pup after me, even after my pleading, she had been adamant.
"Kate, why would 당신 name him after me?" I said in a soft voice.
"Because it was what I chose to do. And he sorta looks like you."
The pups 모피 was mostly black, save some golden locks on the 상단, 맨 위로 of the head, not as dark as mine, but close.
It had been a couple weeks since his birth and the death of my closest friend and bond-brother, Mephistopheles. I ahd also neglected to tell anyone about it.
The pup opened his eyes to look at me, they were a startling amber color that seemed to shine with their own inner light.
Unfortunatly I could not smile, nor do anything encouraging. I just stared back with my cold outer shell I had put up, since Devil died. Only Kelly could penetrate this shield. I was afraid I would drive everyone away.
The pup turned away to hide behind his mother. She glared at me, "Alec what the hell is wrong with you, ever since 당신 came back from that little outing with Kelly, youve changed dramaticlly. Alec do 당신 hate me?"
"Oh for God's sake," I exploded, "When will 당신 get that it isnt always about you? Come on, Kate, dont turn a blind eye to the world, first lesson I learned after I left Alpha School. I-"
The pup continued to cower behind his mother and my shouting hadnt helped any.
I took a deep breath, "I will not talk anymore about this in front of the pup."
"You cant even bring yourself to say his name can you?"
I shook my head, "Do 당신 know how a 늑대 gets Pure Black 모피 like me and that pup?"
"What do 당신 mean?" she stammered.
"Wolves get the pure Black 모피 when they are born at the exact moment another 늑대 dies. I happened to be with the 늑대 that died when the pup was born. He was my closest friend, 더 많이 like my brother."
She gasped, "so when 당신 were gone-"
"Yes, his name was Mephistopheles, but we called him Devil, his name for me was Angel," I smiled, but then it faded, "And I got to hold his hand while he died."
"I see, but 당신 cant hold it against my Alec."
I closed my eyes and gratted my teeth, "I know, and now that 당신 have a replacement me I will be going," I turned around and started walking away.
"Alec-" The pup and I both looked at her.
I sneered at her, "See there 당신 go."
I looked her in the eyes, letting my ice-blue connect with her amber ones, "You've hurt me for the last time Kate, from now on ill only see 당신 as a threa-"
A driving wind slammed me in the chest and threw me into the wall.
In the aftermath stood a beautiful, glistening, white wolf. A white so pure so almost had to squint to look at it. A white so pure it was the exact oppisite of my pure black.
"Hello, Angel." said the white wolf.
I got shakily to my feet, "Hello Cassandra."


She was beautiful, but it was a cold beauty. A beauty that was marred 의해 the arrogance that plastered her face.
She regarded me cooly.
"This is pathetic Angel, ive been in the area for three days, yet 당신 failed to sense me. You've grown weak and your distraction with this pathetic excuse for an Alpha," gesturing to Kate, "is bemusing, she-" she stopped, she had spotted the pup peaking around from behind Kate.
"I see," she said, "you've mated with this girl."
"Cassandra-"
"Shut up!" she yelled at me. I saw a look that had crossed her face many time, jealousy.
"Im going to kill 당신 all, every single 늑대 in Jasper will die." She started moving towards Kate and the pup.
"Hey, vindictive bitch, your fight is with me, and as I recall I owe 당신 one for toying with Devil the way 당신 did."
She grinned at me, it was a nasty grin, "but 당신 left and I was so bored."
"Tommarow," I said, "come back and we will fight, just 당신 and me, no one else."
"To the death?"
"Yes, and if I die, 당신 leave everyone here alone."
She thought about it for a moment, then nodded.
She turned to leave, but stopped, "You know Angel, I would have done anything for 당신 if 당신 had just returned the 사랑 I gave you."
Then she was gone in gust of wind.
