I'm so confused in this relationship! Help!

Okay so I met this guy at my friend's party so after that he sent me a 페이스북 message asking me to text him sometime. So we started talking and flirting a lot and I asked him if he liked me and he said yes. So then I asked him 더 많이 질문 to clear up some of my confusion and I asked if he was my boyfriend and he pretty much said yes. But now his best friend is telling me that my so called "almost boyfriend" is telling me that it isn't made "official" yet because he hasn't properly asked me out. But now I'm really depressed because I thought he was my boyfriend but apparently it isn't "official" so I have to wait for him to ask me out. What do I do??? He already likes me but apparently it's not "official". I don't want to lose him and be just 프렌즈 if he happens to change his mind and I'm fearful that it might come to that. Is there any way that I can keep him interested long enough so he can ask me out? 또는 is there any possible 조언 당신 can give me?
