The Powerful Word, "Because"

THE POWER OF BECAUSE

You're standing in a long line to pay for your groceries. Which sentence do 당신 think will get 당신 through?

1. "May I go ahead of 당신 please?" Put on a really sincere face.

2. "May I step ahead of 당신 please, because I'm really late for my doctor's appointment?"

Using the word "because" will get 당신 closer to 'yes' in almost any circumstance. Why? Because your request is followed 의해 a reason, an explanation for the request. If the request is reasonable, then why not say yes?

The word refers the listener to some background, some circumstances, a framework related to the request....

The woods were filled with silence and I looked around for any signs of the slayer.
