Ive never heard of any of them, and it would be so hard to find people just like on the anime, but i reckon the ones for Sokka is plausible, based on looks, and Katara...maybe,although she doesnt seem to have as much 'strength'look facially..so hard to tell unless you see them audition. And for Zuko?well i would NEVA have guessed the Jessee dude, but looking at his face, if they styled him like Zuko etc its poss his face could have have some resemblance..but its hard to picture him as white?lol though its hard to say what race the characters are or meant to be.

I think the characters would look best if they are half-Asian and half-European. I mean like, the cartoon is an American-made but still Asian-influenced. I don't know how Nickelodeon studios might consider selecting the cast, but that's just my opinion on it.

I had another look on utube on the pics and have to think they did quite a good job, theyd have to have tans colour their hair and wear coloured contacts lol other than that it seems good to me, and looked into Jessie some more and reckon he'd be quite good, not what i expected, but good facial similiarites in shape and contour etc hes quite cute

The problem about the movie wasn't the cast, it was the writing and direction; Rathbone and Gabriele were dead-on as Sokka and Yue, ok, Aang and Katara needed some help, and Zuko and uncle Iroh - wrong! which is a shame because you're looking at Oscar-caliber actors in this film. People from Asian communities cry foul with the casting, but in the decades (Yeah, I'm old) I've been watching Anime for the longest time I did not know they came from Japan because the characters were drawn with western features-why defeat that by casting Asians? You can still make a GOOD movie with people who look different or slight out of character-and still make it plausible, that's why it's called ACTING!
