We sat there, tears falling from our eyes. We, being me and my sister Friday. We were sixteen 년 old triplets but our brother had left for boarding school, three weeks ago. We all had black hair. Friday's short and straight, Mitch's cropped and spikey, mine long and wavy. Friday's red face contrasted so much with her hair and I was sure that I looked almost exactly the same. Izzy the oldest of our younger siblings, age thirteen, just sat. Kate and Sammi, age eight, were twins. Kate rolled around restlessly and Sammi gripped her doll so tight that it almost seemed that it's one eye was popping out. Erik, our baby brother, nine months, was sleeping peacefully between Kate and Sammi, but only because he didn't know what was going on. Our parents had died earlier that night. What had happened was that we had been coming back from the movies, driving through the bushy area near our mansion house and we had been run off the road 의해 a lunatic drunk. The crash had been loud. So loud 당신 could barely hear yourself think. This didn't change anything because the only thing that 당신 would have been thinking was"AHHHHHHH"... soooooooo...yeah. Mind you, god never closes a door without opening a window… so 당신 can climb out. The window, we were mostly unharmed but I had been unconscious until Friday shook me awake. We unbuckled everyone else and clambered out of the car. I checked over everyone to see if they were alright and then look up at Friday. Tears had been rolling down her face and it had been that moment which I realized that our parents were dead. As I watched, a tear hit the picture frame that Friday was holding. 더 많이 and 더 많이 came until they were gushing out of her eyes. I pulled her into a hug and soon Izzy was crying. I pulled her onto my lap and we sat there, Friday, Izzy and me, huddled and crying until we all fell asleep.
I woke up half way through the night, from a dream that had involved an unhealthy amount of snakes, and saw without that the cat had come in and was now asleep on 상단, 맨 위로 of Erik. Carefully I eased out from under Izzy's tired form and crept over to the 침대 where Kate, Sammi and Erik had all fallen asleep. I lifted the cat off him and left the room as quietly as possible. I creaked down two flights of stairs into the 부엌, 주방 where the light was still on. I stood there for a while unsure of what to do next. I looked around, the energy saving light-bulb illuminating the well designed kitchen. I looked at the wooden bench tops and carved cupboard doors to the fridge. I moved slowly 앞으로 and pulled at the door. I investigated the 음식 situation. There was a tupperware box containing some unknown substance, but i'd decided to steer clear of unknown substances since The incident of two thousand and nine. As I was easing the door closed with 레몬 에이드, 레모네이드 in one hand and an 사과, 애플 in the other I heard a voice from behind me.
"Hi Max." Friday's voice was dry from crying and her face was red and blotchy.
"Hey," I said, "How are 당신 doing?"
"Okay-ish, you?"
"I don’t know," I replied. in truth I was incredibly sad but I couldn't bring it up again. it was painful. Too painful to talk about.. I sighed and looked over at her. She had been thinking about it again and I could tell 의해 the fact the she had tears rolling down her face. I put down my refreshments and walked over to her. I hugged her as tightly as I could.
"What do we do now," Friday asked, her voice muffled, "we can hardly stay here." I pulled away from her.
"I guess," I started, "I guess we call Mitch."

This is written about the perfect silence only found in the dead of night, and the feelings it inspires.
The 제목 comes from the 설명 a friend of mine gave when we were stuck in the middle of nowhere at midnight and I found it sort of beautiful.
Enjoy (I hope) :)
Weighted air and winking stars,
darkness draped, tension wrought.
This night, this hour, is ours.
Silence chimes unspoken thoughts
that choke my mouth.
Silver moonbeams in glittering outline
surround you, and in our youth
this night, this hour, we intertwine.
I'd 사랑 to hear what 당신 like 또는 hate.
Thanks for reading.
