So remember back when I reviewed Fable II that I liked both of the first Fable games and how I am not a true L337 Gamer as a result? Well, this is the other of the two Fable games, Fable the first, 또는 Fable: The 로스트 Chapters, as I have never played the original Fable, 또는 Anniversary for that matter.
Fable: The 로스트 Chapters has a story as unoriginal as the sequel. A young boy’s village is burned down and he goes to train and become a hero in a world where people need 히어로즈 to do things. As he goes about these tasks, he later gets involved with a quest that involves immortal deities, swords of righteous power, walking 슈츠 of armor, and weird voice acting. I 사랑 it a lot. This was one of the games I had when I started to collect video games eight years ago, and now the 도서관, 라이브러리 can barely fit onto one shelf. Fable has a very simple world for 당신 to explore, yet one that is so nice to look at even in sixth generation console graphics that I have fun going through them. From the nice bustling towns of Albion to the calm autumn forests to the quiet snowy landscapes, these environments are always really nice. I remember trying real hard as a kid to get everything done in this game. Complete all the sidequests, unlock all the silver chests, open all the Demon Doors, and collect all the rare weapons. Some of these weapon descriptions really made me laugh. I like that the dry, witty sense of humor from the first Fable carried over to Fable II. But what separates this game from the other Fables is challenge. In Fable II, if 당신 lose all your health, 당신 come right back up, but now 당신 have a barely noticeable scar. In Fable: The 로스트 Chapters, if 당신 die, that’s it. Game over. It was quite the wake up call for me as I went to this game after Fable II and got my 나귀, 엉덩이 kicked a few times. I had to actually try to plan ahead in this game and ready myself for what was to come. I really enjoyed the side quests of this game. Hell, the main story at the beginning felt less like a story and 더 많이 of something like a weekly show with no real continuous plot. Just do basic quests and gain popularity with the people. I like it when it is just a simple mission that doesn’t really have a connecting plot. It gives it a sort of TV show vibe and I really like those. It’s why I like some of Grasshopper’s games like Killer is Dead 또는 Killer7.
Fable: The 로스트 Chapters is far from the grand RPG that I remember it being, but I still 사랑 it. I am aware of the multitude of lies from this game such as the whole acorn incident and what not, but I never knew that when I played the game, and after learning about it, I still loved this game and still see it as a nostalgic classic. There are better RPGs out there, hell, even better western ones, but I still 사랑 coming back to this game for the humor, the nice overworld, and the fun side quests, and no amount of Peter’s lies will change that.
