This is a sequel-article to one of my recent 기사 which was a giant rant about the apparent crappiness of the 360. I think it's fair to say I made it out to be the greatest rip-off on the face of the Earth. EVERYTHING is different once 당신 have got your Gold Membership, there's so much new stuff to download and re-theme your screen. That is, once you've got past the torturous set-up of the internet connection and membership.

My horrible journey started with trailing a giant ethernet cable across my living room (from PC to 360) and digging a nail into the 벽 above the door frame to serve as a shelf for the cable. The 다음 part was a tedious task which could have been mistaken for setting up a freaking bank account.

After giving the 360 a brief life-story, I thought it was almost done, but then.... over-protective disaster struck. The 360 came to the ridiculous conclusion that I was a 7 year-old child on a quest to find new swear words and rude pictures (even though I'm only a few months away from being able to legally buy every gory, horrific DVD in the world). This resulted in having to set up a whole new account for my mum, so she could "supervise" what I was able to access. After much Live ID creating and 비밀번호 Recovering, we finished the connection set-up. The damned PC-look-alike 360 Elite was ready to download the latest gaming news, pictures, trailers, films, and blast the heads off people as far as Australia.

The 360 is amazing, if 당신 have the mental stamina of Stephen Hawkings and the budget of Bill Gates.

MY CONLCLUSION AS TO WHICH NEXT-GEN CONSOLE IS THE BEST IS...... completley dependent on your wallet.

If 당신 want a cheap little console which has the basic online features and mediocre games, then choose the Wii. If you've saved up for blooming ages and decided to splash it out on fantastic quality games and features, choose the 360. Unfortunatley I can't give my opinions on the PS3 because the few times I've used it I was playing GTA4 (gangsters & glitches) and Resistance (your average, generic, run-of-the-mill FPS).

If you're a REALLY casual gamer, buy the Wii. If your a hardcore gamer, 또는 just an average gamer.... STILL buy the Wii and a hardcore console (PS3/360). I know it sounds strange, but the Wii is the new, dart-board, the new pinball, the new...... entertainment thingy 당신 show off at parties! The hardcore consoles are 더 많이 a combination of a games machine and a PC.

So there it is, my opinions in a..... <scans article> rather large nutshell. Feel free to tell me I'm full of crap, 또는 tell me to shut the 퍼지 up; but please do so nicely :)

Cinders LOL! Your frustrations with security settings and technology amuses me. That was pretty well-rounded, knifewrench! A good evaluation of the product. (See, I told you I'd read and rate ;o))

loner614 Thats Funny.... I didn`t have any problems what so ever hooking up my 360 ? I guess what I`m trying to say is... "Your Full Of Crap!"... But I`m doing it in a nice way. By the way...The PS3 is an overpriced piece of SH*T and the Wii SUX!

loner614 I believe when the PS3 came out, It had a price tag of bewtween 500-600 dollars. I nor anyone I know would dish out 500 dollars for a game system. I think the 360 was quite pricey for 400, But I guess thats the price you have to pay when upgrading to a "Next Gen System"... Futhermore, The Wii is geared towards Girls, Youngsters, And people who like to partake in Video games once and a while, Not to Hard Core Gamers... This opinion has been expressed on several blogs and Magazine articles, As well as The popular video game show "X-Play" On the G4 Network

knifewrench Just because the Wii is marketed towards a different audience doesn't mean it sucks; it's just not for us. And you actually trust X-Play's opinion?

BlueBadger That's exactly what I want to know. Anyway the PS3 is actually a BARGAIN compared to the 360. I mean, just take a look at all the extra stuff you have to buy for the 360 (bigger hard drive, $50 worth of online play, etc.) And have you ever heard of a game called No More Heroes (definitely NOT for children, I assure you)? Sure the Wii is MOSTLY geared towards people who are new to games, but that doesn't mean it's not for everyone.

knifewrench Oh, No More Heroes is AWESOME! Unfortunately they took out the blood for the UK version. Stupid funkers.... I may have generalised by saying it's not for us. I mean there's -like you said- No More Heroes. There's also Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl (for some), The Conduit is coming out... hopefully soon, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (hehe, one of their best games is a port), Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicals, etc.

What strikes me about Jak and Daxter is that a lot of people have heard of them, but at the same time not that many people have played a Jak game, and certainly not the very first game - The Precursor Legacy. This probably goes to show just how much of an influence the first Jak and Daxter game had on modern-day platformers. After all, there really weren’t any good genuine platformers on the PlayStation 2, 또는 on any console for that matter except for games like Mario 64, Spyro the Dragon 또는 Crash Bandicoot. It was Jak and Daxter that set a new benchmark for platform games on the PlayStation...
