So...WHY 360? Did they just pull a 랜덤 number out of their butt,or does the number have some signifigance?

I, personally, don't think the 360's name has any significance towards the console. Mainly because almost every three-dimensional game has a 360 camera angle. And 3D games have been around for years. In short, I think Microsoft just added the "360" fraction of the Xbox's actual name just because they either couldn't think of a better name, 또는 they just stayed away from cool names and stuck with weird numbers. Hey, Xbox 2 would've worked just fine.

I'm not sure Xbox 2 would work, it would look like they're a step behind the PS3

Well, you've got me there. It would also be very repetitive if 닌텐도 had named the Wii the "Nintendo 5", 또는 the DS the Game Boy 4.

My guess is that they wanted to sound like they were as advanced as 플레이스테이션 3, but couldn't call the system XBox 3 because it isn't the third console in the series. So 360 *implies* that it's as good (even better) than 플레이스테이션 3, but without actually lying about which number they're on.

The reason why they called it the 360 is beyond my knowledge, but in my personal thought, it's probably named that because Microsoft has a long line of geek fanboys, and everyone knows geeks 사랑 big, scientific numbers. :D

Maybe because Microsoft thinks that it will make 360 degrees in the world of gaming.

That joke gets so old, even to me, a person who only owns a PS3.
