Aro,because he covets power.He wants to have the most powerful vampires and wants to destroy Carlisle's family.He is supposedly a friend of Carlisle's but he is no friend.A friend would not want to destroy another friend's family.You know what they say,"Keep your friends close,but your enemies closer."It's a good thing Alice can see the future and warn her family of any future decisions Aro makes.
