9th chapter Unfolding

Carlisle

Following three years was difficult. Maybe if we couldn't see Nessie finally becoming grown up, it'll be easier to forget that we also had children.
After Emmett and Rosalie told us about 아기 disappearance we went searching but the trails ended up at the river. We tried to look for them blindly - it didn't worked out too. When I watched Esme hugging Nick's teddy 곰 and praying for him every night I wished that our kind could cry. We had too many tearless sobs.
But time still passed and we learned to cope with our children absence. We stopped playing games, during holidays we traveled to foreign countries, we changed the town and the another 원, 동그라미 of school, job and new acquaintances began.
Today I expected nothing else but the usual 일 when my phone started vibrating. I glanced at number - it was Alice. If she's calling me while I'm at work that probably means something important is happening.
"Alice? Is something going on?" I answered.
"Yeah, but nothing too serious. There is few riotous 뱀파이어 in Chicago and Volturi are sending their guards to make sure everything is under control"
"That's all right. They aren't going to come to us, are they?"
"Actually, they do. Though it's been six years since Volturi tried to punish us for Nessie, only now Aro is taking an opportunity and sending us an official apology and invitation" Alice didn't sound very concerned so I decided not to panic either.
"An invitation?"
"Yes. He would 사랑 if we would come to Volterra and be his guests"
"You think, it's sincere?"
"I guess. He probably tries to make sure that we didn't become enemies after the incident with immortal child"
"Well, all right then. I'll take a look at couple 더 많이 patients and be right back home" I promised her and hung up. I really hope there won't be any problems with Volturi again.
When I returned 집 the atmosphere was pretty calm. Alice reassured everyone that there is no danger and now all of us were considering possibility to visit Volterra. Bella and Edward wasn't very enthusiastic about it while Emmett, Esme and Alice thought we should go. I, Jasper and Rose hesitated. As Volturi guards appeared reporting Aro's apology and his offer, we decided to accept it. All of us will come, except Nessie who will stay with Jake and his pack at La Push. There was no point in delaying our visit so Alice booked plain tickets after few days.
The flight to Florence was long and I knew it's difficult for Jasper to be in such small 우주 with so many humans but I was sure that Alice and Edward are controlling everything. At the airport we were welcomed 의해 one of Volturi guard, Santiago. He led us to black limo with dark windows. The trip was short and quiet - guard didn't spoke and neither did we.
It's been so long since I've lived in Volterra and seeing its towers and walls caused me some sentiments. I regretted that our relationships with Volturi wasn't very good and I hoped we will able to improve it. After all, I learned many things from them.
"Aro is waiting for you" Santiago announced as we entered old 성 "Please follow Afton, he'll show 당신 the way".
I thanked him and we went into dark underground corridor which hasn't changed since the last time I've been here. I took a deep breath enjoying dark and moist air when suddenly I caught a familiar scent - warm but with touch of vampire sweetness. I needed a few 초 to realize, 또는 better say, to remember this scent. It belonged to half-vampires. I shuddered from memories - could it be that Aro invited us because of our missing children? Alice wouldn't be able to see half-vampires...
"Please wait here, Master Aro will come soon". We were left in old spacious hall. I sniffed the air 더 많이 intensively - it was definitely a scent of hybrid. I looked at others, their expressions also showed confusion.
"Could it be..." Bella started asking and was interrupted 의해 girl's soprano.
"What are 당신 doing here?!" I turned and froze. On the farthest corner of hall, near small doors stood Emi. She looked like fifteen 년 old teen, her hair was much longer and had fringe, but we still recognized her.
"Emi!" Rosalie exclaimed and ran to her. They hugged each other and tears filled Emi's eyes.
"What are 당신 doing?! 당신 can't be here, it's dangerous!" she shouted, fear mixed with happiness in her expression.
"Why? Princess, are 당신 in danger?" Emmett also hugged her. She sped to door, looked over the corridor to make sure no one can hear us and came back to Rosalie's arms.
"Did Volturi kidnap you?" Rose asked angrily. Kidnapped? I never imagined Aro doing such thing.
"Actually we were kidnapped from Volturi"
"What?!" we were shocked. She ran to door to check for guards again. When no one appeared she quickly started explaining.
"Have 당신 heard about Jacom?" we nodded - he was Nahuel's father. "Well, he persuaded Volturi that half-vampires can be really talented specie so in order to check this theory Aro offered for guards to have children with humans. We are those children. We were and are Volturi's property. But somehow someone managed to steal us from them. And that someone left us on your doorstep to blame 당신 for kidnapping. We ran away from 당신 to make sure Aro couldn't ever hurt you. 당신 see, he doesn't know that we spent these two years with you, if he would know... Please please don't tell them!"
We stood there shocked and somewhere distant there was a sound of footsteps.
"I have to go, get Jalley" she whispered and hugged Rose one 더 많이 time.
"Jalley is here?" Alice's voice was full of hope.
"We all are here" she said and ran out. Only when she was gone I realized that she was wearing one of the dark Volturi cloaks. I didn't have much time to think about her words cause soon Aro and his guards showed up.
"Oh, my dear friends, I'm so glad 당신 accepted my invitation!" Aro smiled and I wanted to shrink.
