7th chapter Forgiving

"How are things with Jalley?" I heard Carlisle's voice. They all were concerned about her. Again. I, on the other hand, was glad that we adopted Emi who were such lively person while Jalley always had problems with something.
"Better. I think" Alice seemed uncertain. Another proof I'm right. "But she still refuses to talk about her ability". Oh yes, the mysterious power that scares Jalley like hell. Emi doesn't have such problem too. The only thing that concerns me now is Emi's mood. Since the accident she's been less enthusiastic about everything. At first I thought she's simply frightened - we don't know what Jalley can do with her ability, but now I think it's something else.
I climbed upstairs to check and found her sitting on a floor, sketching something indifferently.
"Hey, princess, what are drawing?" I looked over her shoulder to see the picture - many abstract figures.
"Mommy" she turned to me and I saw tears in her eyes. I quickly hugged her.
"What happened, sweetie? Are 당신 all right?"
"I missed Jalley" she grasped my 블라우스 and started sobbing. So that's what has been bothering her!
"Oh princess, 당신 can visit her any time 당신 want" I assured her feeling relieved that now I know the reason.
"But she'll be mad at me! Right now I'm not even sure if she really cheated..." she hid her face in my hair and I squeezed her tighter.
"Sweetie, I'm sure she'll forgive you" I guess I'll have to talk to Alice before.
"Really?" she looked into my eyes and I nodded. If I need to threaten to Jalley to make my girl happy, I will do that.
Right after I sent Emi to pick up a dress for our trip I went to Alice. She wasn't very fond of Emi since girls fight but we both agreed that reconciliation could be helpful. When we left 집 Emi looked keen on meeting Jally but as we got closer to house her enthusiasm fade away. I gripped her hand and tried to encourage her.
"Princess, everything is going to be fine"
"But Jalley is very determined! What if she won't forgive me? She's my best friend, I need her..."
"Don't worry. Don't 당신 trust me?"
"I do..." she avoided my gaze and I sighed. Jalley will have to forgive my girl.
"Come in" Alice invited us, her voice sounding dryly. "Jalley is in her room"
I went to stairs but Emi stopped me.
"Mommy, I think I should do this alone" I watched her lovely face which seemed frightened and firm at the same time.
"OK, princess. I'll be waiting 당신 here"
I sat on the sofa hoping I could eavesdrop their conversation. The door creaked and I heard Emi approaching to Jalley's bed.
"Hey" she said trying to sound cheerfully "Why you're in bed?". Jalley didn't respond so she continued blabbering. "You know it's been three days since we played together. Wanna play?" Still no answer. "Jalley, please, say something" her tone became pleading. "Anything. Anything will be fine. Say that 당신 hate me and it'll be better than 당신 lying here speechless" Emi was crying now. "Jalley, please forgive me. I don't know why I acted so childishly, I'm sorry. Please please forgive me". Jalley was still quiet and Emi started weeping. I stood up ready to teach Jalley good manners when she finally spoke.
"I thought 당신 knew". I wasn't sure what was in her voice - anger, disappointment, tiredness 또는 apathy, it sounded so coldly...
"Knew what?" Emi asked feeling better that she's talking with her now.
"I thought that 당신 know that I will never ever use my powers on anyone"
"I did. And I still do" Emi was crying again "I'm sorry, I don't know why I said it before. I'm such idiot!" I heard Emi sitting on 침대 "Will 당신 forgive me?" Silence lasted for a few minutes.
"Why do 당신 want me to forgive 당신 at all? What kind of friend I can be when I'm a cheater?" now she was harsh and I wanted to interrupt when Alice caught my hand and shook her head. What was she thinking? That I'm letting Jalley hurt my princess?
"Please... I need you, without I'm in pain. Please..." Emi was begging. I considered ripping Alice's hand cause I couldn't stand my girl humbling.
"Fine" Jalley sighed and for a 초 I thought that I imagined it. "OK, I forgive you" But why? Not that it would be a bad thing, I just simply thought she was too angry to forgive.
"Oh Jalley!" Emi hugged her "I'm so happy! I missed 당신 so much!"
I turned to Alice who was still holding my hand.
"Did 당신 see this?" I asked and she shook her head "Then why the hell..."
"They had to clear everything up 의해 themselves" I frowned and pulled my hand out. I could hear girls chatting joyfully about everyday matters and I felt relief. After half an 시간 they both came to living room. Emi was pretty and happy as always while Jalley looked tired, maybe even sick.
"Girls, I'm so happy 당신 solved everything!" Alice welcomed them. Emi sat on my lap smiling and I cuddled her, one eye following Jalley. Her face was serious when she stood up in front of Alice.
"Are 당신 better, honey?"
"You said that you'll always be with me and..." she faltered. "And 당신 사랑 me... So I wonder if..."
"If what? Honey, we'll 사랑 당신 no matter what" Alice assured her.
"Even if I can do terrible things?" OK... I knew there is something wrong with that girl.
"What kind of things?"
"I, I can..." she started crying and Alice hugged her. Was she ever going to reveal her ability 또는 not? What kind of powers could be so terrible? I doubt there can be anything worse than Jane's pain illusions.
"Shh... Honey, don't worry, nothing is going to change our minds about you" Alice sooth her and she looked into Alice's eyes.
"My ability... It's... I have strong will" Jalley whispered and I almost laughed. So that's the scary power? Strong will?
"That's good thing, honey" Alice said also sounding relieved.
"It's because 당신 don't understand!" Jalley screamed "My will is too strong! It's stronger than others. My will can affect others' will"
I stared at her for a second. This is a bit 더 많이 frightening - your decisions being affected 의해 someone else - but I was still sure she was exaggerating.
"I still don't understand. What is so terrible in 당신 ability?" Alice looked confused and Jalley sighed tears filling her eyes.
"Every decision people make is based on how much are 당신 willing to do something. Even the tiniest ones. I can change that. In other words, I can control every decision 당신 make. I have an ability to make a puppet of everyone"
I looked at Alice's face reflecting the same fear as mine. Now that was a terrible talent.
