End of Part 28
"No. I can't go back, in fact the reason that I came today is that we are leaving the area and I wanted to see everyone before we left. I have realized that it is easier to have everyone think I am dead, since we're leaving and will not be back." I said as I looked him in the eyes.
"I understand..well most of it I do. I still feel like 당신 are hiding something, and I wish 당신 would trust me enough to tell me." Aaron said.
Suddenly Rosalie and I both heard people coming this way in the woods. A few 초 later we heard someone yelling Aaron's name, apparently he had been gone long enough that someone noticed and now they were all out looking.
"Aaron, they are looking for you, they will be here in a seconds. We can not be seen, please keep the secret. Please?" I asked quickly.
"I will, will I see 당신 again?" Aaron asked quietly.
"I really hope so, I..we will try." I said as I hugged him gently.
"Goodbye Aaron, it was very nice to meet you. Please keep this secret." Rosalie said as she hugged him softly.
"I will, now 당신 both better be going before they find me." He said as the yells got closer.
Rosalie grabbed my hand and walked at human pace into the woods, once we were out of sight we both ran. We ran a few hundred feet before Rosalie turned and looked back at where we left Aaron.
"Should we see what he has to say?" Rosalie asked, a smile lighting up her face.
Part 29
"Follow me, if 당신 can." Rosalie said quietly.
I nodded and smiled down at her. She took off running as fast as she could, when we were within a few hundred yards from where we left Aaron she jumped...and I 로스트 her.
I looked around trying to figure out where she had gone when a acorn hit me on the head..hard. I looked up, confused and saw Rosalie smiling down at me. She motioned for me to follow her, but the 나무, 트리 she was in looked too small to hold both of us.
I went to a large hickory 나무, 트리 and started climbing like I did when I was a boy. For some reason it seemed much easier now then it was before, like my hands dug into the tree. I looked over and saw Rosalie watching me closely, she blended into the 나무, 트리 so perfectly that if I didn't know she was there I would never see her. I hoped that I could do the same, I moved further towards the 트렁크 of the tree, blending in the leaves.
I had just gotten to the point where I didn't think anyone would see me when we heard the group of searchers coming close enough to find him.
"Aaron? Aaron!" I heard someone yell.
"I'm here." Aaron said as he looked to the trees where Rosalie and ran into.
The group walked into the clearing, my father at the front, Benjamin, James, Phillip, Michael and John following behind him. I smiled down at the small group, a warm feeling running through my veins.
"What do 당신 think 당신 were doing!?" John yelled as he marched over to where Aaron was sitting.
"What is going on?" Father said.
"I'm sorry, I just needed to...get away." Aaron said softly.
"Get away!? Are 당신 trying to scare us all?" Ben asked.
"Why would 당신 go alone?" Someone else yelled.
"Ok enough!! Aaron why?" Father asked.
"I...thought I saw something." He explained.
"Saw what? Why are 당신 out here alone...and unarmed? What if the 곰 would have found 당신 again!?" Father yelled as he 로스트 his temper.
"I..I just...I had to get away. I thought I saw someone I knew, but obviously I was wrong. I shouldn't have came out alone. I am sorry." Aaron said as he looked down at his feet.
"Who did 당신 see?" Ben asked quietly.
Aaron turned quickly and smiled at Ben, no one else seemed to catch this but me and probably Rosalie. I turned to look at Rosalie, the look on her face a mixture of fear and anger..not a good thing.
"My eyes must have been playing tricks on me." Aaron said quickly.
"What did 당신 see Emmett again?" Michael teased.
Why were they all being so mean to him? We were the closest so of course he would be having a hard time with all of this. And what did Michael mean 의해 again? That 질문 would bother me until I could find out.
"MICHAEL!!" Father yelled as he turned to face my older brother who flinched back from him.
"Sorry father. It's just that those first few days he thought he saw Emmett everywhere..and we would all go running off to find him and come 집 empty handed." Michael explained.
"And if Aaron thinks he saw Emmett today we would all go out and look again!!" Father stated.
I had to lean against the 나무, 트리 for support, they had gone out looking for me...and if Aaron said he saw me again and told them where I went...would they go look again? I honestly hoped that Aaron would keep his deal...I couldn't let him endanger Rosalie.
I took a deep breath to calm myself and felt Rose looking at me, I turned and smiled at her feeling myself calm just looking at her face. I wanted to reach out and touch her, to hold her...I did my best to force myself to focus on what was going on far below me.
"Aaron...did 당신 see Emmett again?" Father asked as he moved to sit beside him on the tree.
Aaron took a deep breath and looked around at the trees before he could answer. I began to wonder if he saw me because he stopped and stared at my 나무, 트리 for a long time before continuing.
"I thought I did..but I got out here and realized I must have been wrong." He said sadly.
"Should we go look father?" Ben asked.
"Aaron, it's your call. If 당신 think 당신 saw him, then we will go look and hopefully bring him back home." Father said sadly.
Aaron thought about it for a 초 before he answered. "No, it wasn't him." He said sadly.
"Ok let's go back then, Ben would 당신 help Aaron back?" Father asked as he stood up to begin walking home.
"Yes pa', I will help him." Ben said as he went and stood 의해 Aaron.
Ben and Aaron sat in silence, neither of them saying a word for about ten minutes. I noticed that I could not hear the 검색 party anymore, I was positive that they were back at the farmstead 의해 now.
I stood still, holding on to the 나무, 트리 watching my brothers when I realized that Aaron was staring directly at me. He would look away to other trees as if he was searching for something then his eyes would flash back to mine. I held my breath as I looked at Rosalie who shrugged her shoulders.
"You can come out now." Ben yelled.
