At first I had thought I had died. The blackness I had so helplessly succumbed was a relief to me. The pain left my arm and I didn’t feel so drained of energy. I actually felt slightly happy that I wasn’t awake anymore. I couldn’t hear anything, see anything 또는 feel anything and it didn’t worry me. It was peaceful. I didn’t know how long that this peaceful silence lasted before sounds started to crash down on me. I could hear conversations, TVs, cars and radios. They pounded down on my ears and all I wanted to do was find the mute button and stop it. Then my sense of touch returned. I could feel the softness of blankets around and underneath me. I could feel my head resting on something squashy like a pillow. I could feel someone’s cool breath against the side of my face, as if they were lying 다음 to me.
“She’ll open her eyes in 35 seconds.” A female voice that was high pitched and sounded as if she was singing.
“Are 당신 sure?” A velvety voice asked, filled with worry and concern.
“Am I ever wrong?” she sounded slight annoyed that she would be questioned.
She started to count own quietly. I didn’t want to open my eyes. I wanted to lie in the softness and the warmth. I wanted to go to sleep and pretend that I hadn’t even woken up but then knew that I was awake. I waited until she said ‘one’ before I opened my eyes. I wanted to spend as long as I could wrapped up in the soft blankets. The first thing I saw was Edward. He was lying 다음 to me, watching me with black eyes. I sighed when I saw this. He hadn’t been able to hunt.
“How are 당신 feeling?” he whispered.
“Never mind me,” I whispered back. “Your eyes are still black.”
“I came back as soon as Alice told me about you,” he said. His eyes were pained.
I knew what he was talking about. Alice must have called him and told him what had happened in the forest with the Felinata.
“But how did Alice know?” I asked, sitting up. I was indeed covered with blankets. I glanced down at the arm that had once had a Felinata attached to it. It was completely healed. Only a faint scar was left to show that I had once been stabbed with a very sharp horn.
“I saw your little fight with that freaky creature,” Alice explained. “I was looking to see who would win, 당신 of course, but then I saw that. I tried to call Emmett but he left his cell here. But when I saw it I was too late to stop it. I ran into Emmett when I was coming to find you.”
“You didn’t have to come back, Edward,” I said, staring in to his onyx eyes. “You know I can heal.”
“But 당신 로스트 so much blood.” I saw him shiver slightly. “I could smell it as I ran through the forest.”
What had I done to this poor vampire? I had probably stopped him ever leaving me again. He goes away once and I land myself with a near death injury. But I healed didn’t I? So there was nothing to worry about. But Edward would worry. It was just like him.
“Honestly, Edward,” I said, smiling. “You worry too much.”
“And so I should.” Edward’s eyes flashed with anger. “I told 당신 not to fight with Emmett. How dare 당신 disobey me?”
“Disobey you?” I felt myself flare up with anger. “Who do 당신 think 당신 are? My father?”
“If 당신 had done what I had said 당신 wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”
“I can heal so it doesn’t really matter.”
“You didn’t heal very fast.”
“It was a severe injury. The horn nearly went right through my arm.”
Edward scoffed at this. He didn’t believe that the worse the injury was the 더 많이 time it would take to heal.
“There was 더 많이 damage to my arm that just a simple cut, Edward. Obviously it would take longer to heal.”
“If 당신 had just listened to me, 당신 wouldn’t have had such a severe injury.”
I turned away from him and tried to get out of the 침대 I was lying in. I could see that I was in Alice’s room. The dresser that she had sat me in front of and threatened to dye my hair was still covered in the hair related products. I guess I had kind of spoiled her day. She thought that she was going to play Barbies with me but instead I fight with Emmett and nearly bleed to death. I would try to make it up to her. Maybe we could go shopping 또는 something.
I hadn’t even gotten my feet on the floor before Edward dragged my back. He wrapped one arm around me and held me close to his chest.
“I am not finished with you,” he murmured in my ear.
“Well I am,” I said. I tried to wrestle out of his grip but he just held tighter.
He kissed my cheek softly and I stopped trying to get away from him and instead tried to get closer. He chuckled quietly and pressed his lips against mine. I turned so my chest was against his and entwined my hands in his hair bringing his lips harder against mine. I felt such passion in his 키스 and I could feel his anger that I had went against him but I don’t think he really cared. He was just so relieved that I was alive and that he could 키스 me again. His lips were 키싱 mine so greedily that it was almost hard to believe. Since when was Edward greedy? But then he stopped as we heard people entering Alice’s room. I let my hands fall and I almost pouted. I hated it when he stopped. Just when I was enjoying it.
It was Carlisle and Esme who had come in. Esme practically flew to my side and dragged me away from Edward so she could hug me.
“Oh, I’m so glad you’re awake,” she whispered in my ear. She kissed my cheek. “I’ve been so worried.”
“Sorry if I scared you,” I said, patting her gently on the back. Esme sometimes scared me with the amount of 사랑 she possessed in her slender body. It shocked me sometimes when she would hug and 키스 me and worry about me as I was one of her own children.
“It’s ok,” she said, letting me go. “You’re all better now and that’s what matters.”
She was back at Carlisle’s side before I had time to blink.
“How’s your arm?” Carlisle asked me. I knew he wanted to have a look and figure out how I had healed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he asked for a blood sample.
“Completely healed.” I held it out so he could see. Now he was 의해 my side and inspecting my arm. His cold finger traced the scar on my arm and I could see he was impressed.
“This is a very unique ability,” Carlisle said, still looking at my arm. “I have only seen the 늑대 with this fast a healing process.”
“How’s my favourite little human?”
I looked up to see Emmett grinning in the doorway.
Edward sat up straight and stiff and snarled at Emmett. Emmett didn’t flinch but his eyes did go hard. Edward got off the 침대 slowly and stood up, all the while keeping his eyes on Emmett.
I groaned silently. Edward must have blamed Emmett for what had happened to me. Edward would blame him. He would blame the trees if he could.
“Get away from here,” Edward snarled.
“I’ll go where I like,” Emmett retorted.
“Because of she nearly died!”
“She told me to run,” Emmett said, defending himself.
“You shouldn’t have left her.”
“Would 당신 rather I had killed her?” Emmett snarled. He couldn’t contain his anger anymore. “There was blood everywhere, Edward. If she hadn’t pushed me away I wouldn’t have left at all. And neither would she.”
Edward snarled ferociously. He bent into a crouch and Emmett flexed his muscles. Esme pulled Alice to the side and she watched Edward and Emmett fearfully.
“I told him to go,” I said to Edward quickly. “He was losing his self control and he couldn’t stop looking at my blood. He had to run.”
Edward wasn’t listening to me. He was so focused on Emmett and thinking of ways to hurt him. If anyone of the others could read his mind they would be hauling him to the naughty step before he could do anything.
Edward’s lips were pulled back over his teeth and he was snarling. Carlisle was watching Edward closely. Carlisle would intervene before anything got too bad.
I crawled quickly to the end of the 침대 and jumped in between Emmett and Edward. My back was to Emmett and I was facing Edward.
“If 당신 hurt him Edward, I swear to God 당신 won’t have your right arm anymore.”
Behind me Emmett chuckled at my threat. Esme was looking at Edward then at me, trying to watch us both at the same time. Alice was staring blankly into space, trying to depict what would happen.
Edward was not backing down. He was getting ready to attack. No matter how much I loved Edward I was not going to let him hurt Emmett. Emmett had done nothing wrong. He was trying to protect me when he ran, not himself. If only Edward had seen how Emmett had stood in front of me and was going to take on the Felinata. I was thinking this desperately and showing him but he ignored me.
I positioned myself so I would be ready to defend Emmett. I waited and so did everyone else. No one actually thought that Edward would attack. Esme was hoping that he wouldn’t. She didn’t want a fight to break out between her sons.
No one thought that Edward would attack until he did.
