Chicken brand under fire for using TWICE\'s lyrics on G-Friend\'s advertisement

Hosigi Chicken\' is under fire for scorning girl group G-Friend\'s name.

The brand, for which G-Friend are the current endorsement models for, recently uploaded a new advertisement image of member Yuju phoning in an order for some chicken, with the caption, "Sorry about not answering your call. I was busy ordering Hosigi sha sha sha." 

Seeing the post, Netizens immediately noted that the caption above Yuju\'s head refers to the currently trending phrase taken from TWICE\'s "

Cheer Up". The original lyrics from TWICE\'s song goes, "Sorry I didn\'t answer your call earlier. I was meeting up with friends shy shy shy." 

While the phrase, which recently garnered quite the attention for Sana\'s adorable pronunciation of the word "shy", has shown popularity among netizens, they still felt it was inappropriate to reference a competing girl group\'s trending phrase for an ad featuring G-Friend. They commented, "The marketing team must have lost their minds", "Gamaro Chicken just earned a point", "They just stole the lyrics from TWICE", and more.

Gamaro Chicken\'. The post by \'Hosigi Chicken\' has since been taken down from their SNS account, following the recent controversy.

they stole TWICE\'s lyrics!! But I don\'t blame GFRIEND.

Well obviously this chicken brand wants Twice more. They just slapped G-Friend in the face by doing this. They could also get sued for using Twice to promote their brand without paying them anything. Why did they think they would get away with this? lol

I think it was insulting to G-friend and inconsiderate of twice.  G-friend has their own popular songs that the company could have take a phrase from so using a competing girl groups phrase isn\'t necessary and gives attention to the other group instead of the one promoting your brand.  Twice is just now trying to cement a fandom so having another competing girl group member use something you\'re trending for takes the attention away from your group.  So, the company was in the wrong in all aspects.

Um, Hosigi you hired G-Friend. I know all these girl groups get confusing but as you did actually sit down and sign a contract with them it would be nice if you actually learned their group name.

What a mistake.. if they want to have GFriend as the ambassador, just use their songs... or if they want to use Twice\'s lyrics, have them be the ambassador instead. The company should know that it\'s not right to use another artist\'s lyrics while having a different artist be the ambassador..

Someone got fired. :( (but seriously, is it too hard to research a bit -_-)

I\'m pretty sure they knew where the phrase came from since they used almost the whole line not just the shy shy shy part. They just didn\'t care.

maybe the people thought they were working with Twice instead of GFriend, or they\'re just plain ignorant. Don\'t blame GFriend, blame the person in-charge.

They only took the pictures... Subtitles come later. They probably didn\'t have any call on this. Idols have very little autonomy on their CF\'s.

Even if gfriend knew about Twice\'s lyrics, they still couldn\'t have done anything or refused. They aren\'t in charge of the CF or their endorsments.
