I don't blame Lucas for hating him either since he killed Lucas' Uncle, who was Dan's older brother. I did kind of feel for him after he had turned himself into the police for killing Keith cause he had been caught by Lucas and confronted by Nathan. But I just did not like him, maybe he did change afterwards, but I've only seen up to Season 5, so I am going by what I saw. And I liked Keith, he was a good character, I don't get why people didn't like him. He wasn't a horrible jerk, should be he an ass for people to like him? posted over a year ago.
