I hope she figures it out for herself. Better that Damon not have to give her fuel against Stefan. I haven't read the books so I'm hoping she falls for Damon and he gets to be the good one.

SPOILER ALERT! DONT READ IF U HAVENT READ THE BOOKS! In the books Elena is in love with both brothers and she kinda cheats on them, she says she with Stefan and then goes and makes out with Damon-it's annoying...

I think she will find out on her own, or ask him. Damon is selfless enough not to burden her with more death, or make her angry at Stefan by being the one to mention it first.
