I just saw the movie...

I had it the other way around: read the book first, watched the movie second. In my opinion the original novel is so much better than the movie adaption. When they shortened the plot for the cinema, they didn't just cut out action as they should have but robbed the charm. The book is incredibly touching in a non-judgemental, serene yet straight attitude. The book is 더 많이 complex, charming (I say socialist monopoly etc.) and rich in details and allusions to other works of literature 또는 art.
In a book review I wrote for the newspaper I work for I phrased the book-movie connection thus: "The cinema killed Clare and Henry. Thankfully, they'll live on in their readers' minds. The artist and the time traveler 곰 potential to become a literally timeless 사랑 story. Caesar and Cleopatra. Romeo and Juliet. Scarlett and Rhett. Clare and Henry." That pretty much sums up my attitude. I 사랑 the TTW for its literary qualities and felt a little betrayed when they made it just another vanilla cinema flick.
