I think his mom should be a used-to-be actress, who retired to a quiet town in Pennsylvania to live a quiet life.

The humor would be, his dad is a deadringer for Jeff Goldblum...but not him and his mom actually is "Daisy Duke".

I like both of the above ideas are good. I can picture Doris Roberts or Catherine Bach as his mom.

Oh wow. Jeff Goldblum would be AMAZING. And I want Catherine O'Hara to play his mom. That might be too much, but I'm positive it would be hilarious.
