Who said Rick is going to make it happen? How do we know that Mark Of Athena hasn't ALREADY happened? Maybe it's like what one of Franks ansorcters did? He was blamed for something that he did not do. And we saw in the chapter prv. that when Annabeth was talking to the statue he said:
"Oh, we know all about THAT goddess!"
Maybe Athena did something to the Romans long ago? And so her name needs cleared? How do we know that Mark Of Athena meens someone, mainly Annabeth, will die? Maybe Annabeth being a child of Athena, would be the one to clear her mothers name?
Wisdom's daughter walks alone. The Mark Of Athena burns through Rome.
Perhaps their could be a dead-line that only Annabeth could complete. It would explaine wisdoms daughter walks alone. And if Athena did somethign to the Romans then I'm sure they would hold a grudge. What if she did somethign that shamed them, like with the bird mark on Daedalus neck?
So in a way, that could be the Mark Of Athena burns through Rome.

In TLO I cried when Annabeth got hurt because I was so sure she was GOING to die... but she never did. So maybe he will mess with our minds making us think someone will die.
However, it could be the death of an older charcter. From PJO books. 당신 say Ricj wouldn't waste his time? Well he killed Beckendorf and Silena right? Maybe he would kill Will, 또는 Katie, 또는 gods forbid.... The Stroll bros. 또는 Clarisse!

So she said gently ''Do 당신 know the whereabouts of Leo Valdez?'' Olympia replied '' 당신 talk to me like a little girl.you do know im not five.'' Annabeth sighed.''I know. But do 당신 know if Leo is alive 또는 where he is?'' Olympia laughed weakly '' both of those I can answer yes and, she took a breath,He's right there.'' She pointed upwards smiling. Annabeth gasped '' Leo!'' she ran up to him, but was intercepted 의해 Piper,she cried '' Leo Valdez! I thought 당신 were dead! I CARED for 당신 Repair Boy!'' Leo gave her that lopsided, grin and she dropped it '' Don't get over excited Beauty Queen.''
