Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
The Firm is Held Hostage – The Good Wife – Season 6 Episode 5 – “Shiny Objects”
Last week we saw Alicia getting a dose of shock and awe as her and Eli went over the negative issues that Castro could come after her with if she begins a campaign for State’s Attorney. Alicia discovered that her son and his girlfriend had an abortion, her mother and brother can’t stay out of trouble, and her ex-client / drug dealer is now her biggest campaign supporter. What could be next? Let’s find out…
Elsbeth is back!!! I just love her and her antics.  It seems we are getting a glimpse into how her mind works and it is as crazy as we would have thought.  We get another look at Elsbeth in action as it seems she is going up against Alicia in court. This should be interesting.  Alicia’s client is claiming she was fired because she is a woman. It seems Elsbeth has one upped Alicia today, but we know better than to count Alicia out.
Diane is about to email something to Alicia when she clicks on an email from Alicia and a strange message comes up saying her files have been encrypted and it instructs her to click a button to access the files. It turns out it a piece of malware and the hacker is holding their files hostage for fifty thousand dollars. They have 72 hours to pay up or all of their files will be deleted.
They are due in court and have no access to their files. The firm thinks their only way to get out of this is to pay the ransom. Alicia heads back into court and just when she thinks she may have won back the upper hand, Elsbeth strikes again.  Dean tells Alicia they have to do something about Elisabeth. Alicia knows just how right he is.
Back at the firm, Diane is paying the hackers, but nothing is working. They notice a phone number to call for help. They dial it and are put on hold. This is too funny, really it is.
Alicia and Dean are trying to think up a new angle for their case when Eli shows up at the firm. Eli is not pleased with Alicia asking Finn to help introduce her when she announces her campaign. Eli wants her to tell Finn he is dis-invited. Peter won’t come if Finn introduces her.  I know this has to upset Alicia.
Kalinda visits a friend at the FBI who might be able to help. This is another one of Kalinda’s ex’s. She wants to help but she doesn’t like that she only sees Kalinda when she needs something.
Diane finally gets someone on the help line. It turns out the email was sent to her old email address. Diane asks to speak with a supervisor. Diane calls David at Lockhart-Gardner. It is no surprise that David is not willing to help Diane.
Back in court, Dean gets the upper hand this time, but Elsbeth comes out again and just when you think she may be regaining the lead here, she falls into one of her “thinking” spells.  The other attorney working with Elsbeth calls for a recess and then comes to Alicia to talk about a settlement. Elfman shows up and asks Alicia to drop Finn if it means losing Peter’s endorsement.
Kalinda’s friend shows up at the firm and gives her the IP address of where their money was sent to, a Mr. Kelner. Kalinda heads out with her friend and they show up at Mr. Kelner’s door to have a chat.  It turns out Mr. Kelner is being used as a money mule for a laundering operation. He thought it was a work at home opportunity. Kalinda begins chatting with the man Mr. Kelner thought he was working for, a Mr. Black. It turns out Mr. Black is on to Kalinda and he makes Mr. Kelner’s computer go dark.
Diane shows up at Lockhart-Gardner and you can tell it is hard for her to be back, especially when she sees David in her old office. David has a proposal for Diane. It turns out her name is on the lease for the other two floors in the building.  He wants Diane to turn over the lease and he will give her the email, she refuses. She tells him to give her the email and she will discuss signing over the link.
Diane gets the email and enters the code into computer but all it did was make the timer go faster. Cary calls Kalinda and she is working on tracking the money. She knows it was sent to someone in Russia through Kelner.  Kalinda may be working but it seems she is, once again, mixing business with pleasure.
Elsbeth, Alicia, and their teams are at the settlement table when Elsbeth exclaims that there will be no settlement because she won’t be distracted again. Elsbeth goes back into her “thinking spell” and tries to find the answer, which she seems to do, with the help of a clown, hmmmm… Back in court, Elsbeth goes into action and Alicia tries to distract Elsbeth again, but it doesn’t seem to work.
Finn meets Alicia and she tells him that she can’t ask him to endorse her right now. She tries to spin it as she doesn’t want to endanger his job but Finn is not buying it. Finn tells her he is fine endorsing her and she goes with it. This is not going to end well.  What will Peter do?
In court Elsbeth is still at it, but is distracted by a visitor to the courtroom, Josh Perotti.
Kalinda is able to hack into the hacker’s computer and can see him through his webcam. She tells him to give back their money and files or she will delete his hard drive. When he declines, she threatens to turn him in to the Russian police by filling his computer with anti-Putin propaganda. This seems to get the hacker’s attention and he gives back their files and money.
Back in court Elsbeth continues to be distracted by Josh.  The judge goes to tell him to leave, but Josh explains that he is there to stop the proceedings because the company on trial has had their assets frozen pending a government investigation of which he is heading up.
Alicia heads over to see Peter, Eli, and Elfman about her announcement event. She explains that Finn will be introducing her as well as Peter. Peter and Alicia take the conversation into the hallway. She tells Peter that he needs to be okay with Finn introducing her because in the long run she may need him but he needs her too. She points out that if he doesn’t endorse her then every questions he takes at his Governor’s conference is going to be about the state of their marriage and his ratings will plummet.
Alicia leaves it with Finn is going to introduce her and Peter can introduce her or not, it doesn’t matter. She rushes out telling Eli and Elfman that they can do what they want.
Back at the office, Diane has had the last straw pulled when she comes across a roach at her desk.  Diane tells Alicia that she can’t do this anymore. She tells Alicia about the space she owns at Lockhart-Gardner. I wonder how that move-in will go.
At Alicia’s event, Finn introduces Alicia.  It turns out Peter is not there and Alicia is battling some nerves. Right as Alicia goes to take the stage Peter shows up and goes up with her to make some remarks of his own. It seems Peter may have seen the error of his ways. I must say that it was a nice change seeing Peter stand next to her than her next to him. It seems the news agencies feel the same way! Be sure to tune in next week to see what is next for the Good Wife!
