Hi all, its been a while since I’ve written anything but I recently read this wonderful 기사 which strongly prompted me to write an 기사 in response. I was inspired 의해 the article, which brought up some really good points that I had not at all anticipated, but there are a few points I want to expand on using my own perspective. MINOR SPOILER ALERT. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN. NOT INTENDED TO BASH ANY CHARACTERS. ORIGINAL IDEA FROM 기사 LISTED ABOVE. Now to start off, hooray for season 8. And Supernatural’s 옮기기 to a new night, along with a new show runner means there is lots of new stuff in store for us fans. Now with a new season, comes new characters of course. Last season’s finale had Dean and Castiel blasted into purgatory (aka monster land) and Sam left utterly alone. Dean went through a harrowing 년 of fighting monsters while Sam decided to put the past to rest and live a hunter-free life. Now an 기사 alone can be written about his choice, but this 기사 is actually about the two new characters in each of the Winchester’s life: Benny and Amelia.
The 기사 brought up a very, very interesting idea. Sam, who admitted to running away after Dean’s apparent death, crosses paths with Amelia entirely 의해 accident. She’s definitely not the most approachable person. Edgy and guarded, she guilts him into taking care of the dog, then forcefully rejects any of his attempts to have a civil conversation. She uses sarcasm like a shield, and pushes away all her pain and insecurities, assuming the shape of a bold and independent women. She doesn’t accept help, she doesn’t talk about her feelings yet when put on the spot, she suddenly appears so fragile. Sound familiar?
Dean meets Benny when he is saved 의해 him in purgatory. At this point, Dean has realized the gravity of the situation and is not taking chances. He doesn’t trust Benny, understandably. Benny is a vampire, who is offering him a way out of purgatory with the price of hitching along for the ride. Dean knows the implications of his actions, but with the prospect of returning back to earth alive, he accepts. Benny is smart, resourceful. Having been in purgatory for a long time, he knows his way around. While Dean is considered hotheaded, Benny is calm and collected, something necessary for survival. He thinks things through, organizes plans, and is willing to let Dean take the lead for the most part. Sound familiar again?
If 당신 didn’t see it before, I’ll say it now. Amelia has some scarily similar qualities to Dean as Benny has to Sam. Coincidence? Perhaps on some levels. Benny and Dean were really allies of convenience, especially at the start. But when 당신 examine it on a deeper level, it becomes less likely. Sam and Dean have been regarded as soul mates on numerous occasions. Perhaps exemplified 의해 their “abiding 사랑 for each other” as Dean puts it, they’ve always connected on a level that could not be measured 의해 words.
It might not always be apparent, but they have always needed each other. It may look like an unequal distribution but they both need each other equally, just in different ways. Sure as a kid, Dean was responsible for Sam, but it goes beyond that. When 당신 are moving around like they were, long-term 프렌즈 are out of the question. So they relied on each other for emotional and physical support. Even when they grow up and go separate ways, it seems like a habit that cannot be unlearned.
They always have each other to rely on, despite the number of times they have been let down. Sam may have betrayed Dean over and over again, but his presence in Dean’s life is much too massive to be taken away. While they might have some serious issues with each other currently, they have spent a lifetime together, each as the other’s pillar, and rest assured, they will find themselves back to where they need to be.
So it really is no coincidence that when torn apart from each other, they would connect best with someone who was just like the other. If Sam and Dean were each two halves of a whole, would it be unrealistic to assume that in light of the situation at the season 7 finale, they would find someone similar, even if it was temporary, to fill that void left 의해 the separation?

Daphne lifted her head and stared at him with wet and bloodshot eyes. “How? I can’t”
“It’s time for me to 옮기기 on” Martin said. “I’ve been wandering around for too long. I’m done here. If I stay much longer, I could turn into a vengeful spirit”
Daphne shook her head. “I don’t believe that”
“You didn’t believe I would show up in the first place, either” Martin pointed out.
Daphne pulled her shoulders. “How do I let 당신 go? Aren’t 당신 supposed to walk into the light 또는 something?”
Martin laughed. “Not exactly. 당신 have to salt and burn my bones”
“So I need to go to the cemetery?” Daphne asked.
“No. That grave is empty” Martin said bitter.
“Then where are your bones?” Daphne asked nervous.
“You’re standing on them” Martin answered.
Daphne lifted her head and stared at him with wet and bloodshot eyes. “How? I can’t”
“It’s time for me to 옮기기 on” Martin said. “I’ve been wandering around for too long. I’m done here. If I stay much longer, I could turn into a vengeful spirit”

“You didn’t believe I would show up in the first place, either” Martin pointed out.
Daphne pulled her shoulders. “How do I let 당신 go? Aren’t 당신 supposed to walk into the light 또는 something?”

Daphne covered her mouth. “Oh my God, that’s…awful” she said
Daphne threw her arms around Zoey and Zoey faked a few tears and sobs. She pushed Daphne away and said she had to tell Alexia. She put her 지갑 on the dresser, knowing Daphne would see the letter and be too curious to leave it where it is.
And indeed, a 분 later, Daphne stormed outside, hysterically crying how everything was her fault.
Zoey walked back inside, trusting Daphne would need some time to calm down. She opened Daphne’s computer and connected a portable hard drive to it. The hard drive contained a fake video of Cas doing things with Alexia.
Zoey copied the video to Daphne’s files and then removed the hard drive. She closed the computer and called Alexia.
“Let’s go, Lex” she said. “We’re going to your grandparents”
