Even though he took it upon himself, I truly believe that he did it for good, though his lust for power was strong also, his love for Padme never died...at least I don't think it did. I don't think he wanted to kill her, jealousy just over took him, and for that, I have no sympathy. When he killed younglings I didn't have sympathy either, but for eveything else, I guess you could say I do.

I feel sorry for him because he was so young and vulnerable making it easier for Palpatine to manipulate him. His killing of the younglings and the other Jedi was wrong and I agree with fruitsofmalice on this. He was so obsessed with power that it blinded him to everything he was brought up to believe in: love and compassion.

yes i do. When we saw his life and the reasons that made him turn evil, we can only feel sorry for him. It's heartbreaking to see him turn the ones he loves against him.

It is really heart broken to see him burned... He just turn to the dark side to save padme.. Because he said to palpatine "just help me to save padme" STUPID OBI WAN!! Obi wan should have fight him when he already touches the ground instead of him jumping up than cut his arms and legs! Thanks a lot dumbass obi wan

I can't tell you how sad I feel whenever I watch that movie. I mean, he was lied to! And he lost her anyway... I guess THAT'S what made me feel so bad for him... It always makes me want to cry when Obi-Wan yells, "You were the chosen one!" and Anakin's struggling without his limbs... I thought the prequels were pretty depressing.

I never really thought he was completly evil. he in my opinion just got so caught up with things and palpatine had him so messed up that he really didn't have a chance to think what am i doing. All he really knew or thought at the time is he had to do it to save padme, really he was so caught up in that he didn't realize what happened until he was in too deep. So i definitly do feel bad for him

I picked sort of because some of the decisions that he made was because he was bratty and overreacting, but most of it was because he was tricked so im kinda in the middle with that question. But mostly I do have sympathy for darth Vader but on the other hand some of the decisions he made were bad like killing the jedi academy kids. Now I cant forgive him for that.
