“Lola, what can I do for 당신 this evening?” he asked smiling knowing he would dazzle her, as he had dazzled many others in such a way.
“Urm, well, the thing is Mr Northman, I urm, I may need a little time off” She looked worried as though she thought her words would instantly anger the majestic vampire sat in front of her.
“And what is the nature of such a need??” he asked her

“What manner of trouble?? Is it anything I could help with??” He asked curiously

“I see, and when is the child to be born??” he asked calmly causing Lola to step back in a moment of horror.
“How did…how could…..”

understanding” With this she bowed to her boss and exited the room.

“Nothing, I’m simply finding a replacement waitress to cover miss Ward, I’ve granted her maternity leave beginning three weeks from now and I wanted to be fully prepared for her last shift.” he said matter-of-factly.

“Well as it happens that was not the cause, I was considering who to have for supper. My tastes are pulling me toward Jane tonight” he said trying to sound as honest as possible.

Eric simply smiled in agreement his mind wandering to a completely different place. No. He had to go himself, make a proper introduction and offer her the job. Even if she did not accept the offer maybe he could use this as an excuse to get to know her better. She turned her hand this way and that, Eric’s eyes following as though it were the most mesmerising thing in the world, when suddenly her hand fell still.

He raised his eyes to meet hers knowing full well how capable of carrying out such a threat she could be. He paused for a moment considering his response knowing he could not lie to his child again.
“There is a waitress I have in mind to fill the position” he answered earnestly.

“That of a waitress” he answered too quickly.
Pam eyed him sceptically, knowing that she had hit the nail on the head with her evaluation of her makers behaviour.

“As a matter of fact I do” he answered in a sharp tone.
Pam broke into a broad grin and met his eyes, nodded and left the office chortling to herself.
