We've been trudging through Waterless Desert for hours.I check my map.
"We're here, right?" Radioactive says, pointing to a section on the map a few inches away from a vast forest.
"Yeah, we are," I say.
Aimina groans.
"Oh, I'm sorry, art thou not entertained?" I say, annoyed.
"Sorry, it's just so hot out here," Aimina complains. Her 늑대 nanny... thing... whines.
"Not my fault."
"Look, I know it's not your fault, but do 당신 have any water?"
I look ahead. I can't believe my eyes. "Radioactive? do me a favor and 펀치 me across the face."
Radioactive does so.
"I sh** 당신 not, that's actually what 당신 think it is," my brain tells me.
"An oasis!" I exclaim.
"It is!" Dakota says.
All of a sudden, it's like Sonic Boom as we sprint towards it as fast as we can.
I then do the most embarrassing thing imaginable: I trip over a rock and land in the water. "Well -- that was a shorter distance than I expected."
Everyone else gets in, and we're drinking up that water like we're dogs.
I check my soggy map. According to it, we're just a mile away from the forest we're headed to. I look up. I can see a large group of trees, a wooden hedge spanning thousands of miles left and right.
I get out and put the map in my backpack. "OK, swimming class is out, guys. We need to find Lenox, and fast."
"Who's Lenox?" Aimina asks, getting out.
"A vampire. it's night right now, obviously, so it's likely she's out getting takeout."
"Vampires don't go to restaurants," Sonic points out.
"No crap, Sherlock. I meant she's probably out getting some blood from 동물 in that forest." I jab my thumb in that direction.
"Oh."
We start heading to the forest.

An 시간 later...

I watch Lenox tear an animal's throat out with her bare teeth behind a tree. 뱀파이어 have always impressed me.
I adjust my feet, and end up stepping on a twig.
Sound really carries in Giant-A** Forest.
I immediately stand straight and press my back against the tree. My heart's pounding as I hear Lenox's footsteps get closer.
She looks at me.
"Um... Hi?" I try.
"Wyldfyre, what are 당신 doing here?" Lenox crosses her arms.
"Look, I - I just need some help. Once we destroy Darkfyre, I'll be out of your hair."
"Fine."
"Wait, what? You're just gonna 가입하기 us that quickly?" This is shady. The Lenox I remember wouldn't 가입하기 that quickly.
"I care about this world."
"Says the one who leaves dead animal carcasses where they are after ripping their throats out..."
"Silence!" Lenox bares her teeth and hisses.
"Sorry!"
Lenox goes to find the others.
I get to them before her. "Guys, Lenox is just joining us, without asking why!"
"Maybe it's 'cause your her friend?"
It's not that, I can read people, and that is not the reason! Am I the only one who finds this shady?"
No one agrees.
"Anybody? Oh, come on, somebody be my moral compass here."
"Hurry up!" Lenox says from about 35 feet away.
"Right." We follow her.
