They’d been in here for the past three hours.

Unable to see, even with their ocular implants, in this pitch black room.

There were five of them in total. Naked and humiliated. Scared and with no comfort from the others, terrified that if they so much as moved they’d get infected.

Three of them were once great military figures, one a scientist, and the remaining just a smeet.

The smeet’s name was Kir. She was small in comparison to the others in the room, and 더 많이 terrified than any of the others. She had been taken from her training and friends, stripped of her uniform, and forced into the room.

The others had similar stories. Suf, Bli, and Eso were the soldiers, each of a unique build. The civilian, a female named Jek, who was little Kir’s biological mother. Not that she had been raised 의해 her, as such was unheard of in the Irken species.

Kir trembled. It was cold. So cold… It was a miracle the child hadn’t 겨울왕국 to death yet.

And she didn’t know who, of the five, the infected one was. None of them knew, for that would ruin the whole point of the exercise…

All they knew was that someone in here was sick. And that they had a horrible disease, that would jump to the others inside and kill them too.

The idea of this test? To see who survived, to make the species stronger and immune so such diseases in the future.

Not a sound in this dull place other than the pants of the adult Irkens around her, Kir felt tears running down her face. She wanted to grow old, maybe settle down… But it was clear to her that wouldn’t happen. Chances of her surviving this were minimal, her PAK had told her.

“We are going to die…” She said in a faint, barely audible whisper. The others heard her, and that was it. The match to gas.

“WHAT THE FUCK!?” Suf screamed, slamming his hands against the wall, “WHAT DID I DO!? WHAT DID ANY OF US DO!? GET US THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!”

Jek sighed, and placed a palm on his shoulder, “Shh. Yelling will do nothing.”

“What do 당신 know!? You’re just a fucking table-drone!” He raged. If they could see in this lack of light, the others would have seen his ruby eyes alive with flame, anger, “You don’t know anythi-”

He was interrupted 의해 a gagging sound. Bli.

He had collapsed onto the floor, coughing and spluttering so hard- And then a dull thump.

The lights came on so the scientist's on the other side of the glass could observe, revealing the full extent of the horror of his condition.

The thump was a lung hitting the ground, hanging from Bli’s mouth, still attached and moving.

Breathing from outside his body.

At the sight of this, Bli chocked and vomited, black ooze covering the floor before him, his stomach following soon after. Piled in a dark, oozing blood.

“Oh my Tallest-” Jek gasped.

Bli’s eyes rolled back, veins popping in his eyes, 더 많이 blood oozing from them as well as his mouth. He activated his PAK legs in a vain attempt at something that was beyond the comprehension of the others.

His dragged his clawed hands down the sides of his head, screaming in agony. His claws cut him open further, only allowing 더 많이 blood to flow.

He was chocking on his own organs, as up came the liver. Oozing out of his mouth, it joined his other organs on the floor.

And then he fell.

Dead.

The others could only wait for their own demise.
